go for rotary[B] hammer/drill if you are drilling into cement, concrete.
once you go rotary, you don't go back  laugh.gif

if you want portable, there's always the cordless with battery option.
*
once you go cordless hammer u wont go back. brows.gif just climb ladder aim, tak tak tak tak..10seconds.. finish.
no need pull cord or extension

Rotary has no torque control.
Rotary uses sds bits. I haven't seen any sds screw drivers.
Rotary is much heavier.

So no. Can't use as screw driver.
*
yes no torque control
wrong, got sds chuck (can use any size drill bit) and sds magnetic hex (can use hex bits)
wrong, my cordless rotary is lighter than my bosch corded
so yes can use as screw driver
only thing it doesnt have for my model is chiselling mode to chip concrete

May I know what are the differences between Bosch GSB 1300 and 500"?
I manually compare the specs sheet, both looks the same.
*
i think 1300 is newer, pricier and comes with the extra handle/depth stop. i bought the 500 (3years ago) cos it was really cheap 100+
i think now newer 500 also have handle. but not so cheap already lol.

After using experience, power and water flow not enough compare to my another karcher high water pressure. (can't complain la). Not that suitable for large area or house using. It will take longer time to finish the work.

More suitable for outdoor (further away) or quick clean for small item.

Battery run only last 25min or less. But charge 5hr ! The charger is too slow or too small Ah. Only 400mA ? hmm.gif  Don't understand why design a small Ah charger.

The motor run very hot and the battery too when continuing trigger.

I think have a hard time to finish wash a car with 1pcs battery.  sad.gif
*
seen the videos.. very weak spray haha. i think just good for washing car.
since i got used to my freebie credit card points karcher so powerful to remove dirt off the tiles and drain. biggrin.gif

Huh? 110v

Why brought a 110v tools when it not suitable here?

New Ryobi not bad wor.
*
hard to explain unless u doing proper carpentry. US tools for carpentry is more developed than what u can get here (asian market).

at UK construction job sites the main power by law is also 110v, not 240v. so 110v tools have more options for the advanced user and also lots of price promotions to be had during some time of the year

Ya, I know US are more advance in wood tech. I follow their wood built alot. Fascinating.

But UK by law is 110v that I never heard of.

If the tools is in your workshop, than a large transformer is require. But onsite to carry a transformer ?
*
i dont think 230v is banned but the companies which uses them needs to have to comply to alot of regulations and have their equipments inspected frequently.
in short, they use 110v as prefered choice. yes they have big ass yellow step down transformers for 110v power

http://www.hse.gov.uk/construction/safetytopics/systems.htm

as for me, 110v is for jobsite use and also a range of 18v system

in the workshop , mostly 240v system but going with 3phase equipment soon. panel saw/spindle moulder, thicknesser, jointer , bandsaw etc.

i mean in my current workshop
using 240v now, can feel the motor slowing down when cutting proper hard timber, so will be going with 3phase machines soon.
furniture building will be done at workshop

onsite projects, then we carry our tools there and have completely different set from workshop, even have portable table saw and track saw. and using cordless nailers as well

You can have higher 240v motor watt to run. (Depend the maker la) But not efficiency.(the bill kill you) So 415v is prefer for higher watt motor.

I see nowaday, western people prefer everything in cordless onsite. Setup the charging station in the van. Nailers prefer gas operated (or air with running compressor) as electrical driven are slower.
*
its already maxed out at 2.2kw. there is no 4kw 240v motor.

gas nailers is usually for roof and wall framing la, bigger nails like those used to make pallets. we dont build house with pine 2x4

li-ion nailers is the defacto choice now for other carpentry work. thats why everyone from makita , hitachi to milwaukee to ryobi makes them. usually brad nails and finish nailers.
air compressor nailer also a good choice, which is why i am planing to buy a mini pancake compressor (110V) to run air driven tools on site too, with the dewalt powerstation outputting 110v for 5-6hours, its cordless in a way as well. and can run my 110v contractor saw and 110v miter saw

Hmm... That is eye opener got people here in MY use 110v powertools that much.

What is the capacity transformer that you use onsite ?
*
currently, i only have one 110V tool (wagner HVLP gun) which uses a small stepdown tx (jln pasar grade teletron) and long power extension cord.
and other cordless tools, I am using my 18v ryobi series (6-8 different tools that i have now)

but if i get the dewalt powerstation it can supply 15A @ 110V so pretty much most of the jobsite portable tools (in USA) can be used (its gonna be light work at site anyway but it still needs to be done at site).
so corded 110V USA tools is super cheap (maybe 20+% cheaper during sales) compared to Asia/UK 240V corded tools. the savings there also get free dewalt already. biggrin.gif and it's pseudo cordless. (no need outlet to run)

and in the meantime, I am planning to buy the 3phase 415v heavy power tools for the new workshop as well.

Oh ya, those Teletron transformer are 100-200w. Have 1 for my cordless makita 110v charger.

dewalt powerstation is a battery powered and not step down transformer right ? It look like battery charger like that ?
*
yup its a 4 x battery, power station/backup powerbank (cant use as charger cos it accepts only 110V in)
so use as 110V out only. (battery charge with 240v charger)

UK users have mention it would have been better if it has 12V DC out. then can add a 240V inverter (12V to 240V) and can power 240v devices as well..oh well maybe next update for this model.
but for me the sole purpose to to buy USA 110V grade power tools. much cheaper and more variety.

Get a stepdown transformer la. Easy job. Won't cost you much also for local make.

Have a 5.5Kva (50A)@110 local make don't no where already. dry.gif  Size is only about 280x280x200mm.

And planning now to DIY a powerbank for 300w@240v, 12v and 5v. Charge from wall socket or solar. For outdoor purpose.
*
the point is to get away from the house/shop outlet leh.

i got dewalt corded sander, i got ryobi cordless sander, the last 3weeks for 3 projects that i did in the car porch, been using the ryobi every time, so easy without cord. no need tarik extension out to inside house wall point

Buy that amount of battery already scary.  sweat.gif  That cost can buy many powertools. But ok la for business. 1 project can earn back liau. drool.gif

Stepdown trans can be small. But ya, heavy. 3kva around <20kg liau. It is only cheaper solution for stepdown.

biggrin.gif
most of the aspect now is timber trading, but since we have timber, then can also make products from it. (but dowan use cacat tools to do it) the other day saw some high end custom made kitchen furniture using walnut. my carpenter say look at this shit. the worker router the groove also like DIY quality. the glue line also like 1mm wide. wtf laugh.gif

Landed. Sometimes need to drill at the column/beam which is really hard with my current no-brand drill  sweat.gif

Since I already have the 18V battery and charger, the solo set will only cost about RM200 as per the link above which is similar to the low end wired type. But the concern is whether it can take the concrete or not, since I think cement/bricks should be no problem. Any user here can share the experience?

Thanks
*
just buy and hentam into concrete lo.
if it dies just send in for waranty
