DjiNn, mine is virgin 100% non-modded set. That's why it puzzled me why it takes so long for TNL to get a warranty replacement set from SG. Mine is 6 months old when 3ROD strikes. The thing I'm mad about is they can't even give me an estimated date 

Ask them to give new one lar..or give back ur money..tell them they cheated u or sumting like that..FLAME them !

Actually i was going to SG next week with my parents..But suddenly changed of plans that they going to Thailand 1st...then to late to send u my 360 already...

DjiNn, I have been asking them every 1~2 weeks. Everytime answer given was ... machine at supplier's site... don't know when will get it back.... give them more time....
Buying a new set is not an option because it should be under SG warranty. By right, should be able to exchange. Will check with them again next week.
OT, btw any hardware issues with ps3? Warranty procedure is same like xbox?

my 360 at the moment is up running after bro metalgrindsolid used the hot gun fix. so tomorrow morning we'll be going to setapak and try on the xclamp fix. will update more info tomorrow afternoon.

Judge's X360 is revived. He just went back from my hse with a happy face. (samurai20, PoP and metalgrind also came). Actually metalgrind already managed to fix his X360 with the hotgun method and I just replace the x-clamps with the screws and washers. I'm really happy that Judge can now continue enjoying the LIVE session.

The problem is not the thermal paste but the X Clamps design itself, by replacing the x clamps (which flex the mainboard) with bolt and washer this problem is eliminated.

Actually there are two methods on replaacing the x clamps. One without drilling the case and one method you have to drill the case. Mine was the first method. Maybe I'll do the second method which involves drilling the casing to permanently secure the both heatsinks when I have time.

I've tested my console for another 3hrs straight session. So far so good.
I'm hoping that this fix will last quite long.

i am goin to undertake the challenge to complete the x-clamp replacement operation on my xbox..

and 1 more thing, how do u guys clean off the old thermal compound on the chips?

Thank you! Alcohol eh.. can use brandy ah Btw, i might be posting some pictures once i gather all info on the technique.. seems like the success rate is almost perfect (100%).

But the operation-to-screw-up rate is high as the success rate .. involve removing all internal organs of the 360.

Can i substitute alcohol with the Zippo lighter fuel (Petroleum distillate - Naptha) to clean off the old thermal compund? I mean its basically what i use to wipe off oily stains and such so...

And do you spread the arctic 5 silver all over the GPU/CPU core or u juz put a drop of it on the chip? By putting a drop will let the heatsink to have a higher chance of contact with the thermal compound but i am afraid the thermal compound might not spread evenly throughout the chip and if worst, some may juz spilled out onto the motherboard...

Getting the bolts are the hardest because hardware shops doesnt sell bolts and nuts as small as 5mm. So basically will have to get it from Bolts & Nuts in KL (Jalan Ipoh).

Edited: Drill ah? Use drill lor But i c the tutorial they using 4mm drill, from my opinion i think use 5mm drill better because the motherboard fits a 5mm screw... i just tried fitting the CPU heatsink with the 5mm screw, fits perfectly
