so the Tesla price $767 is also just a proposal right? the price now is $650 so that means it's unlikely for them to issue new stocks at higher price?
*
Maybe it will be deferred or have the issue price lowered.

QUOTE(Boon3 @ Feb 28 2020, 10:13 PM)
Shouldn't the first and most foremost question to ask is whyTesla needed to make that cash call?
*
The reason is maybe because Elon knows it's overvalued lol.

It's cheaper to raise more money when shares are overvalued (e.g. you issue 1 share for $767 rather than issuing 1 share for $500). Another example of a company doing this is Beyond Meat. They did a second round of IPO right after their first because they know people wanted their shares badly.

Although it may have dilutive effect on EPS, this money received now can help finance investments and expand the company faster.

Hi, would like to know how can I sell off my share which the company already privatized?
*
Privatised because bankrupt or?
You need to find a buyer (difficult to find). You may be able to sell back to the substantial shareholder.

eh, can hold onto shares when companies are taken private?

so when MAS was acquired by Khazanah, can choose not to sell the shares? but then how much is the share price?
*
Not sure about MAS but usually when privatised usually minority shareholders may be forced to let go their shares at the agreed price.
So, if you hold the shares and it was delisted, they will credit you the agreed price x no. of shares you hold into your bank account just as if it was a dividend.
But, you don't own the shares anymore.

As for MAS, the agreed price was RM0.27. Source: https://www.nst.com.my/news/2015/09/mas-last-trading-dec-12

so basically, forced to let go. Don't really have a choice right?

that's why I don't understand how the other guy still holds some shares of a privatised company.
*
I think you can refuse to sell but then you have more problem because shares of private company is harder to sell.
I'm not sure if you are entitled to future dividends but technically should have.

On the other hand, if you hold shares of troubled companies, it will show up in your Bursa statement as DELISTED forever.

I think you can ask Bursa for the shareholding certificate like this and you can frame it in your room (as a lesson) biggrin.gif

No value? Shouldn't they enjoy the same rights as the new shareholders? For example, receiving dividends etc?
*
I think got nothing left to give biggrin.gif Didn't receive anything so far.

QUOTE(moosset @ Mar 17 2020, 06:31 PM)
can these delisted companies be re-listed on the stock exchange?
*
When companies delist, got 2 purpose:
1) Company very profitable for the price or undervalued to majority shareholder/shareholder wants to take control (especially family owned business)
2) Bankrupt

The 2 companies above is bankrupt/not doing well.
IIRC, Kenmark got hit with a scandal.

That statement is one of my family member's.
He said he was hoping the stock can turnaround. He has a lot of money to throw, so..
Many people like to gamble rclxms.gif He didn't get anything anymore after they went delisted.
Similar to those holding Utusan shares.

REITs is mostly retail, offices or hotels.  With this crisis looming around, REITs revenue will have an impact for at least 6 - 12 months.  Think again.
