Wait i tested it out. It seems purchasing the monthly unlimited plan increase the validity.

I topped up RM20 just now, my validity extended 20 days from today, which is 7 September 2021.
I purchased the monthly unlimited plan(with my Jaringan Prihatin RM15 discount, so only cost RM20), my validity now show valid until 17 September 2021. Which is 30 days from now.

Seems buying the monthly plan will extend validity as well.

Oh wow, celcom follows digi always active? But considering xpax monthly cheapest plan is rm30, not as attractive as digi rm15 with 30 days validity

Looking at u now, hotlink. Umobile, since they allow internet use during passive period if you have plan but no call sms, get conditional pass

3Mbps, there's an add-on @ rm10 for 6Mbps.

So it's RM35 + RM 10 per month if you want the best speed.

What about those Unlimited L Plus , M Plus and M ?

look like Celcom continue to scam prepaid user money.

my Xpax line is as backup for call only. No need internet. When oversea, I turn off data but select 4G/LTE mode. Everyday it will deduct my credit even I am not connected to internet. I contacted Celcom CS, they said, disabled Data is not enough. Must select 2G only coz when even Celcom line connected to 4G/LTE, there will be some data used even with Mobile Data off. Therefore the deduction.

Now back to Malaysia, same thing happen. Even my phone connected WiFi for Internet, Mobile Data is set to off. Whenever I set to 4G / LTE mode, I will receive below message and my credit got deducted. bruce.gif doh.gif

Happened to my backup line (XPAX) too. Too frequent till I keep it zero balance. Luckily my line still have that 2 years long term validity. Screw them. Not reloading /top up anything unless I need to use it, RM5 would be good enough whistling.gif .

Tired of complaining. It will come back after a few months. ranting.gif

So problem is setting to 4G or or 4G LTE or 4G volte or even 5G?

Setting to 2G solve the problem?

Complaint also useless?

Only celcom and maxis have this problem? Need to set to 2G only?

Any other telcos have this problem?

Here we go again.

Old voice plan big sim with pay-per-use data can't access 4G network. You have to change a new sim card to enable 4G LTE.

And 4G phone love mobile data. It use for date/time, country location, calling google home and phone manufacture telemetry.

Pay-per-use bill shock is normal news when 4G android 4 @2014 smartphone getting popular years ago. Telcos solution for smartphone evolution is new plan come with free basic internet to offset smartphone calling hone feature.

From my experience of using Maxis postpaid, they did not charge me anything despite my line is in 4G mode roaming. Roamed in Thailand, Japan, and UK last time as some area no 2G and no bill shock so far. They just charge based on my usage during roaming like Calls and SMS.
Phone setting I just turn off the data and data roaming and good to go.

The same goes for my company Digi line where usually I will subscribe to their 3day data pass (RM25). They just charge the amount I subscribe to only.

I think setting 2G is not the main issue as newer phones may not have 2G force mode like iPhone [4G/3G] only and certain countries like Korea or Japan no more 2G network.. so either is flight mode all the way in Msia first biggrin.gif

Postpaid memang dont have this issue. This issue is only for prepaid where they have long validity to just keep the number but never subscribe any data plan.

I check celcom dont have 1 year long data plan for prepaid. Guess wil stick to 2G for now or use 4G and let celcome anyhow charge me. Seem the charges amount to almost RM10 per month.

I am using Dual SIM phone.

Primary line is Maxis for Data and Call.

2nd Sim is Xpak Prepaid. Data off. Data roaming off. Network - 2G. No charge of data usage. However, once I change network to 4G / LTE, then will receive that SMS and my credit get deducted while data line is still SIM 1 - Maxis. Another thing is even I connected to WiFi, change network to 4G / LTE, will receive that SMS and my credit get deducted.

If u talk about data usage, if not mistaken, it tracked as < 10KB for change network to 4G / LTE.

Yup, it's still RM50 for 2 years. I have 4 sims on this 2 years validity. All low use / backup / for kids. No need to reload (Celcom hates this whistling.gif ) for a long time.

Xpax used to allow people to subscribe to 150mb with no time limit, by SMSing SOCIAL to 28882, but I tried just now cannot. If you managed to SMS this let us know. This is a parachute for payu old xpax sim, especially when inserting to f£%#ing android phone that activates mobile data automatically. F£#% u google!

Magic sim? People who change plan early when it is introduced gets to buy validity, so early adopters get to enjoy two years of basic internet. Then celcom disables ALL sim from buying validity for few months... Now ok already
