Do you want to use the flash or not? Because as mentioned earlier you get one with higher ISO settings (1600) or in that range, you get a lot of noise. Personally I've tried with Sony Digicams on my old P90 and with the Canon S3, both also not easy to take good indoor shots in low light conditions.

Only the Fuji F31fd is usable indoor. All other camera that said they can do 1600 is crap. Can throw already.

Come on. I thought we all know there's only 1 compact camera that can take picture indoor and that's Fuji F31fd. Nothing comes close except dSLR. All can throw to rubbish dump.

Your sentence about it has obviously mislead ppl with your "fact". grammatically it states that other way round.

well depends on ur budget
if less than 1k, maybe just Fujifilm Z5 (around 900-1k)
if less than 1.5, maybe Fujifilm F31 (around 1.2k)
if u got more than 2k, think D40 (with kit lense)
if u got more, hire some guy to snap for u rclxms.gif (just kidding)

too bad i dont have much indoor shots to share with u
but from my experience with F31 (auto mode n no tripod)
indoor with some light + no flash, F31 will bump up the ISO sensitivity (1600/3200)
indoor with some light + flash, ISO200-800

go for the fuji F series. i donno F30 is still available but it's newer version F31 should be ok too. i bought my F30 especially because of it's low light no flash capability. & surprisingly even flash photography is very good - the i-flash system does not make blown highlight on the face, especially in combination with high ISO.

ISO800 on this fuji is amazingly low noise - no competitor there...

actually..with the use of tripod
any cheap/normal camera can also snap pretty decent photo indoor
but u need to set f=2.8, shutter speed =1/2, iso =100, flash or no flash depend on situations

or just practice steady hand tongue.gif

boss, shutter speed at 1/2, all your object cannot move. Unless you're shooting mannequin, then you better of using high shutter speed with flash.
