u can double tap instead of hard press home button to unlock the phone but ONLY with AOD on. if AOD is off, can only hard press to wake/unlock or use the power button.

and yes, can tear off the white imei sticker, but stick it back onto the box to prevent it from going missing.

So one month has passed since S8 was launched..

Anyone have regrets getting it?
As for me, I'm happy with the phone

if you are willing to pay rm250~rm300 for it, then yes.

Otherwise, no.

Long time no post here, just got back from vacation

managed to sell off my used clear-coat as well in the meantime, and the other party had no trouble whatsoever in claiming warranty for it as well.

btw, browsing instagram on the S8 is really a different experience. Somehow everything looks way way nicer than on other phones.. Anyone feel that way?

but some videos are a bit blurry cause it gets zoomed to fit it in our big display full screen though.. If only we could select to view it in the original ratio that the poster recorded it from...

Same goes to whatsapp images what we received as well.

i use face unlock 100% of the time..

but when using phone in the dark, i will use pin then as face unlock doesnt work in the dark..

cause i lazy look at top of my phone to unlock.

if i use face unlock, can look else where, example while walking or focusing on other stuff..

didnt know iris can work in the dark, will try it.

anyone got 4G+ here?

I didnt notice it until recently. Mine certain area get 4G certain area it becomes 4G+

using Celcom.

and face scanner works well in bright or low light conditions, but if complete darkness like at night when sleeping then no..

the reason i still use face unlock cause i use it more often, at night sleeping seldom have the need to unlock the phone.. so not bothered with iris unlock..

If only can use both at the same time, then problem solved. I know cant use face unlock for samsung pay or samsung pass, but it should be easy to make lines of code so that if u using apps like samsung pay/pass then it will only allow iris unlock to work and will block face unlock from turning on..

That way we can have best of both worlds..

iris works well in dark because it emits an infrared light to detect our irises.

if bright bright like under the sun, doesnt work well I guess.

erm if i remember correctly, as long as AOD on, whether home button is hidden or shown, you can double tap to unlock..

only if AOD is OFF, then you lose the double tap to unlock feature and can only hard press home button..

mine works, home button shown or hidden. double tap will unlock the phone.

a lot of people here works like that as well.. you sure yours cant double tap when AOD on but home button hidden? Did you tap the correct place?

hmm okay i just tested myself, and it seems to not work anymore.. Is it because of the recent update where they made the clock bigger and some other changes?

I rmb before that update I was using it, and since day 1 my AOD was ON and home button was OFF, and double tapping to unlock works all the time.. After that update I disabled AOD.

Now I just tried it and it doesnt work anymore..
