When overseas the price gap is too little which I understand why people are saying Spark isn't that good a purchase.

In Malaysia the scene is different, Spark is RM 2k range minimum while Mavic Pro alone starts at around RM 4.5k so that's A WHOLE LOT of money.

Yeap agree, for oversea its just 200-300 USD different. I think Spark is good for those who first time owe any drone/dji product, any error it's less pain compare to Mavic. and Spark perform well enough for normal user.

ahhh.. ic. at least have some certain place to go but you need to take subway all the way there if your place is a distance from those area. no choice as sg is not big hehe.. at least merlion area still can fly.. so when i go sg, i wonder i wanna bring along my spark or not.  biggrin.gif
agree with you. i'm just a casual user. not planning to shoot very pro videography or pic. not intend for vlog or blog also. plus i easily eyeing for new gadgets. hence spark is just enough for me. can save some $$ for other new gadgets in the future  tongue.gif

Yeah, you should bring! Marina area is a good place to fly your drone, night time able capture some really nice scene. You could try garden by the bay, but dont fly inside. Fly from barrage/singapore flyer then enter from there. Luckily I stay around south west side, so I always cycle/walk to the area, now we have obike/mobike/ofo bike here which very convenient to go anywhere biggrin.gif

Yup! That's my thinking too. and when you fly Spark, it actually feel less threatening in public area cause of the toy size. Now flying drone sometimes feel like we are doing a crime, although we follow rule. A few time I'm flying around, alot people pass by stand there and look at me fly sweat.gif

spark although small but still the sound quite loud hence still catch people attention. also drone not very common. not everyone using it.. once everyone using it like smartphone than by that time nobody will gonna look at it anymore  tongue.gif

Haha, true. Yalo, now exchange rate getting higher sweat.gif Malaysian come is really not cheap.

Yeap, the main part which attracted people attention is the sound, hope in future there will be a silent motor tongue.gif most of the people is just curious normally, but as I read china forum, it's more like a crime there due to the tight security for drone sweat.gif

Early release does appear to have some issues and DJI are quick providing quick fixes. Gesture feature are new and first of its kind hence they need further improvement.

Whether Spark is a bad drone or not, it is entirely individual preference. That's no absolute right or wrong.

Personally, I love it. Small and compact. While I wish flight time can be longer, I think DJI did a great job in balancing between size, weight and flight time.
Under Malaysia drone laws, the maximum height you can fly without a permit is 122m or 500 feet. If you are adventurous, avoid posting them in public forum/social media.

Agree that normally early release will have issue, we just need to give DJI some time to fix it same with mavic when just release there is also some issue which got fixed now.

Me too, i love the size which is light enough to carry around with my camera. For me, the flight time is sufficient for this size as we cant really expect too much from this size. This is the trade off for being small and light.
