there are no such thing as best and lasting. Any stop cork will have a piece of rubber in it and after times it will wear out and needs to be changed.

Which type would be best suitable? Brass ? Plastic ? Any other materials?
The common one found are brass and plastic type but i find the plastic type tends to be more durable? Of course not those low graded stop cork plastic type.. |

Brass, and with rubber stopper. Ceramic that turn 1/4 round will not last.

yes but any type as well runs on the same theory. They will need a piece of rubber in there to stop the water from flowing when you turn it off. If its metal to metal its never going to create the seal affect

If its metal to metal its never going to create the seal affect Not all using rubber now, some are using ceramic disc. Any small particle in the water if hit the ceramic may damage the disc. |

To me cosmetic not that important ..
What is most important is durable and gives no problem .. I have both plastic type and rubber type now both giving problem leaking hence need to change.. I've the ball type on my washing machine there and one at beside my WC (to use to wash buttock) and find them rather very solid built.. |
