My VIP5 free upgrade to Unifi Lite 10, they also gave me HyppTv Everywhere and upgraded my basic package to Ruby package.
I still can use the STB to watch on the tv.
*
I think its because of the free upgrade so you get both Hypptv STB subscription AND Hypptv Everywhere?

isn't this default router for Unifi?
*
Yup, the default router normally given by TM. Some lucky one can get C5 instead.

No problem for normal daily use. But if use it for torrenting, might hv some performance issue especially when there are many concurrent conections. Router might hang or freeze and require a manual restart.

But anyway, its a boleh tahan router, just having some rough edges havent polish thumbup.gif

Not sure what router I'm getting this Sunday whistling.gif

edit: hv you measured the router startup time? Some ppl reporting around 5 mins, which is very very long, considering that my 1043nd start up in less than 1 min.

480p? I think 10Mbps can handle with no problem at all

Expensive.

How does this model compare with this one?
Beelink GT-1 Android TV Box
*
Im using unblock box also. The main reason people buying unblock tech tv box is because of their 1000+ free channels. go and google urself the channels available.

For all other android boxes, no matter how fast they are, still an ordinary android box without any 'special bundled addon' wink.gif

It cant really replace astro but to complement as most of astro channels still nt available.

Too many apps/channel.  All configured in Chinese... Not sure all channels will work or not...
*
Some of the UI elements are in chinese. Most channels will work + very stable. Of course there will be downtime but its very very rare, only for those not so popular channels. so far i have been using for >6 months. so far so good

How is this different from using a cheaper box running Kodi?
*
I have not tried Kodi, will try i later this weekend. Basically the main difference is the simplicity. No need to add repo and configure any stuff (like Kodi if i am not wrong). Just turn on the box and can watch dy. Like astro. And normally if a channel is down it will be repaired very quickly (but normally it seldom go down)

Okay, many are confused with whether the Hypptv everywhere can be watched on HyppTV STB. The easy answer is both, yes and no.

You can't just use your HyppTV Everywhere login to log in to the HyppTV STB to watch.

BUT if your HyppTV STB is UNLOCKED (which means you can still sideload .apk), you might be able to sideload the HyppTV Everywhere Android app onto the box. So you are now able to run the HyppTV Everywhere app on the HyppTV STB and watch. But now you are not actually using the STB for the feature it is originally designed for. And in this case, the STB just act like a normal common Android media box. Actually you can do it on any Android box, not just HyppTV STB.

So, an easy answer:
No - You cant just log in and watch like normal HyppTV.
Yes - You can still sideload HyppTV Everywhere Android app and watch thru there (provided the STB is not locked, which is quite rare now).

True.

But how long will the servers used by Ubox last?
I read elsewhere some other similar product's free channels already stopped working.

I think better to use cheaper (and more powerful) media players with Kodi

The Beekink product I linked to earlier got better specs at half the price.

BTW, anybody know what is the app that streams the free channels on the Ubox?
*
Yup, that's my concern also. But so far I have heard someone use it for more than 1++ yrs dy without issue.

The app is simply "UBTV". It s impossible to simply sideload it on other media boxes and run since it do a mac address check (which can easily be spoofed) and one more hash related check (nt sure bout the detail).

The problem with other media box is that those apps are normally FOC and server availability are sometimes spotty.
I guess the expensive price is how they are able to maintain the server. hmm.gif

I suppose if you initially subscribe RM129 then later add Voice 20 then you should be able to remove at any time?
*
I think in his/ her case he/ she initially subscribe 149 straight away with the 20 STD. If you add on 20STD after initially subscribing to unifi lite 129, then I think:
1. Cannot downgrade, (in this case remove STD 20), or
2. Can downgrade (remove STD20) but with a penalty.

Installed last Sunday. Weird thing is that installer provide FTB but do not provide FWS anymore. And the FTB they mention turned out to be a FWS.... doh.gif

So my setup is: FTP (pole) - black outdoor fiber cable - FTB (which is actually a FWS, installed outdoor) - black internal fiber cable - BTU.

Anyway, wiring was done neatly both inside and outside, installation done in just 30mins and they left. rclxms.gif rclxms.gif
