Hello guys, I've ran through the search engine here and found a few shops , but sadly the posts are many years back and some may not even be open anymore. May I know where else I can find *affordable* clear acrylic/perspex sheets ?

Also, if I may ask, what is the estimate average price range ? thank you notworthy.gif

Oh why didn't I think of that. May I know how much you got it for ? Planning to custom make a tank, considering to either get loose pieces and make them myself or get those people to do it for me, hence the price comparison between the 2 cry.gif

try calling Marklon Industries 03 6038 1188 or check with them which of their branch got stock.

They do have cast sheet acrylic for 4'x 8', 2mm ~12mm in thickness
price varies from 120/sheet to 500/sheet depending on thickness.

btw, agree with previous suggestion..go for ads company or shop, i did some project on plaque souvenir using acrylic/perspex from ads company, not sure about the price though since you buying a sheet and not a small pieces..and also don't know if they can assemble the tank for you..maybe they can, but hopefully they do a good job otherwise it will be a mess if it leaked later on..

DIY always about passion. sometimes you get to do it cheaper, most of the time we will need to spend more

Actually, glass would be desirable as well, but the idea of it being heavier and fragile is quite a setback. On the other hand, the drawback of acrylic is probably price and the wears it'll have after many years from what I know. I'm living very near Setapak, may I know where's this shop you speak of ohmy.gif

Not too sure , but if i recal 1'x1'x1' costs me around Rm100-150? Cant recall since that was like months ago. If you're just looking to build a tank and have little funds, I'd suggest going full glass (heard it's cheaper than acrylic, not too sure on the pricing tho)

I'd love to do glass but my use case is a little unique. I need to store water for water changes but don't have a spot for it in the house i'm renting that's anywhere near the tank. So i plan to get an outdoor storage box and build water tanks to go inside it. has a very high "wife acceptance factor" too. Small little hole in the wall for tubing and i'm good to go - can even do auto water changes.
