Hello guys, I've ran through the search engine here and found a few shops , but sadly the posts are many years back and some may not even be open anymore. May I know where else I can find *affordable* clear acrylic/perspex sheets ?
Also, if I may ask, what is the estimate average price range ? thank you |

QUOTE(ahchun @ May 11 2017, 04:03 PM) shop that are doing signage/signboard/advertising Oh why didn't I think of that. May I know how much you got it for ? Planning to custom make a tank, considering to either get loose pieces and make them myself or get those people to do it for me, hence the price comparison between the 2 i bought from those shop they will ask if you want specific thickness and also want to cut into specific size |

try calling Marklon Industries 03 6038 1188 or check with them which of their branch got stock. They do have cast sheet acrylic for 4'x 8', 2mm ~12mm in thickness price varies from 120/sheet to 500/sheet depending on thickness.
4'x8' [ quote=usmanjailani,May 11 2017, 04:27 PM] aquarium tank?.cool bro..hope you get what you wanted and get more update on the project.. btw, agree with previous suggestion..go for ads company or shop, i did some project on plaque souvenir using acrylic/perspex from ads company, not sure about the price though since you buying a sheet and not a small pieces..and also don't know if they can assemble the tank for you..maybe they can, but hopefully they do a good job otherwise it will be a mess if it leaked later on..
Thanks ! Will update it here if i ever get to do it haha. Coz right now price seems to be the main factor for me |

QUOTE(ahchun @ May 12 2017, 01:21 AM) cant remember the price but i remember it's not cheap Agree, I'm willing to spend a slightly tad more than my set budget if needed haha. good luck with the aquarium my opnion if price is you concern, buy one. DIY always about passion. sometimes you get to do it cheaper, most of the time we will need to spend more QUOTE(usmanjailani @ May 12 2017, 09:44 AM) yes..i don't think acrylic comes with cheap price tag..have you watch youtuber "the king of DIY"?.he do most of his tank from acrylic..it need to be thick and when you need thicker acrylic sheets, you have to pay more.. Thanks ! Will check him out! QUOTE(exkay @ May 12 2017, 02:08 PM) what's wrong with using glass aquarium ? Actually, glass would be desirable as well, but the idea of it being heavier and fragile is quite a setback. On the other hand, the drawback of acrylic is probably price and the wears it'll have after many years from what I know. I'm living very near Setapak, may I know where's this shop you speak of I know a place near Setapak where you can get them done and they supply to local fish shops around in Malaysia. |

QUOTE(networkcrasher @ Sep 14 2017, 10:10 PM) Not too sure , but if i recal 1'x1'x1' costs me around Rm100-150? Cant recall since that was like months ago. If you're just looking to build a tank and have little funds, I'd suggest going full glass (heard it's cheaper than acrylic, not too sure on the pricing tho) |

QUOTE(networkcrasher @ Sep 15 2017, 08:50 PM) I see, well the price may vary as well depending on thickness. I'd assume if you were to buy the sheets itself in bulk and then build the tank by your own, it'd be much more cheaper than having someone do it for you. Regarding the water tank setup you mentioned, I cannot assist much as I have poor knowledge in fish tanks (i assume that's what you're planning to do) |
