Guys I have the DIR-850L router and I upgraded the firmware to 2.08TM recently

Since then I am facing Wi-Fi issues, sometimes it won't work and also few of my older devices can't detect 5GHz Wi-Fi anymore but previously they can detect.

What is the problem ?

Seems to be firmware problem.

Hi All,
Today afternoon the TM guy will come to install my unifi. Just wondering is the installation do not use the telephone port that already provide by the house developer? My house is landed two story. If i want them to install the unifi on 2nd floor there should be no issue right?
*
They won't use the existing tel ports but if you want to, you can patch the tel ports to the BTU yourself.

No issue with installing upstairs but, in my case, they charge me extra for installation to my 1st floor back room. However others here have encountered no extra charges for the same thing.

wi fi , so need to use LAN cable is it ?
*
Test with cable first to determine that your Unifi speed is ok.

Wifi is another story so one thing at a time.

hi

need to check with you guys.
i download some large files, running at 1000kb/s
my unifi is 10mbps

so another person using another pc unable to download

is there any bandwith management can use to split the speed between 2 pc?
*
Many routers have this feature. Assigning fixed bandwidth to a device or splitting the bandwidth equally among devices. What router are you using? You might even be able to do it already.

What is the software you are using to download? Some languages like Java has weaker network connectivity, hence less line hogging.  smile.gif
*
Have to disagree with that. I use jDownloader and it is definitely not less line hogging. smile.gif

I use it too, it is better than other downloaders out there.  smile.gif

Yeah, it's really great. Love it.

QUOTE(westlife @ May 14 2017, 03:34 PM)
Qos can do it by controlling bandwidth by protocols, ip etc.
*
Yes but in OP's case QoS wouldn't help since they are both doing the same thing. "When one downloads, the other can't".

I spose it would depend on how you define QoS. For me QoS is to prioritise certain traffic over other traffic. EG: Skype traffic over http.

Hi thanks for replying. I tried to search for that option but there's nothing for me to setup vlan
*
I know nothing of Tenda routers so will be of limited help to you. For it to work directly with Unifi, it'll need to support vlans. Some routers have a preset for Unifi or Maxis like Asus or TPLink. Some require manual config of the vlans like Mikrotik, Netgear or Ubiquiti.

Does it have a Malaysia specific firmware?
