Thinking of going to maybankard centre at The Garden to apply for Maybank FCB Visa.

I have my Maybank 2 card approved but haven't reach. It is my first credit card.
Is it advisable to go and get the FCB Visa now?
Would I get rejected? Since it is my first card and yet to be activated.

Thinking to get the FCB Visa for my weekday use since Maybank 2 card is only good for weekend.

Your Maybank 2 is gold or Platinum version? If plat, u can go ahead to add FCB to share current CL.

I saw somewhere is illegal to set a minimum amount for credit card/debit card usage right? For example above RM30 then only can use credit/debit card. Anyone tried to complain to BNM before?

Sifus, when you spend on Maybank credit card it doesn’t appear immediately on the app? Used to spend on debit card and immediate deduct.

Usually how long does the credit card transaction take to appear in my M2U transaction?

1~2 days. If merchant does not perform settlement, maybe longer.

I see, same goes to online transaction?

For let’s say Apple/Uber initial deduction for verification also same?

So for cashback is only after is show in the transaction that only it is being calculated.

Thanks a lot for the answer paiseh. 😅

If I can, I will. I always use PayWave so no issue, faster than the cashier uses cash register. I buy my Sundae cone with my HLB MACH Paywave, so just tap and go. So far the cashiers are happy to let me to use whenever I want. biggrin.gif
*
do you guys ask before pay? "can use cc/paywave ah?" or just when they say x amount and you whip out your cc?

I will ask but if they already placed CC sign, I will take out my CC and ask whether can Paywave.

After the key in the amount do they need to enable pay wave or it will accept either pin or pay wave no special setting needed provided the terminal support pay wave la

My experience the most easily get approved and generous CL
is OCBC follow by HSBC, the most stingy on CL was hlb and stanchart. Abmb and mbb is just normal for me, not so generous at the same time still fine on application.

Lastly i cancelled stanchart, hlb and hsbc card due to annual fee waiver with condition (12 swipes) and stingy on CL.
What i have now is abmb (never expired point), mbb (cashback) and ocbc (insurance). All free without condition 🙂

Interesting what about Citibank any comment on them?

Citibank tend to be  abit leceh to approve the application, but once you have a good credit record with them, the CL and cash advanced can be quite high.
I used to have Citibank CC, from gold and later to platinum for more than 10 years, and the combined CL and cash advanced is in 6 digits
*
Yeah hard to get approval for my first card, way over the income requirement even with a supp card with them before this also can't get approved. Went for Maybank 2 card + FCB instead maybe come back later for Citibank clear card...

So is a good thing to build a relationship with them? I see...

QUOTE(seoncss @ Jan 30 2018, 10:11 AM)
What do you mean by leceh? Slow? Which citi card is recommended for new to citi user? ☺️
*
Yeah I heard many got rejected even with eligible income... me included lol
I think is a bit hard to get it as first card... maybe 1 year later with good credit record much easier.

I dont think is slow also, really depends on what channel you apply from.
new user? lol clear card I think... got 1 + 1 free cbtl and free 1 + 1 Friday movie

How do I get credit card annual fee waiver?

1. Before card anniversary call and ask for it?
2. Check transaction and see if they charge, if charge call and ask for waiver?
3. If they decide not to waive, I say wanna cancel card would I still be charged after I cancel the card?

Thanks

1. You can call before anniversary
2. Yes, make sure no transaction after charge
3. Process to cancel if you don’t use the card, no need pay for the annual fee if there is no transaction after that
*
Thanks a lot! So basically is don’t use the card if they charged the annual fee. So I can cancel without paying anything right. Thanks a lot!

1-2 week should reach your place. Best call to get postlaju tracking code, for my case mine so call “attempted delivery” but no nothing had to go and pickup myself else might be sent back to Maybank.
