want to ask is there any promotion ongoing for OCBC credit card application?

I search through ringgitplus and comparehero but no OCBC credit card promotion ongoing.

Can one exceeds one's credit limit? And if can, what would happen to the amount exceeding? Have to be paid immediately?
*
some bank allows it. some bank will just decline your transaction.

its better to call bank 1st and request to "increased CL for temporary" before perform the transaction.

some bank wont charge for this, some bank got charges. bank may have look at your payment history.

the best practice is we should not spend over the credit limit thumbup.gif

QUOTE(Lokman2552 @ Sep 20 2018, 09:10 PM)
What is the credit limit that bank can offer you if your annual income is around 88000

I mean total allowed by the govt
*
depends on bank and the card type (gold/platinum/signature). usually bank will give at least 1 month salary, or 2-3 times.

so 88k/year can get CL in range of 7k-20k

i have public bank petron gold, CL 6k only (maybe because of GOLD type).
i have this card since esso/mobil times long time ago, signup just to get cashback promo (that time is rm388 if not mistaken, of coz with t&c min spend).
then public bank launch quantum card, i apply and get CL 20k.
see? same bank, diff CL haha laugh.gif

but i also have hsbc card that give me CL which is equal to my annual salary (starting from low CL, then is like every 2 years sms/call me offer to increase the limit sweat.gif)

My question is, how to clear up the bad record that is due to the Aeon report?
*
records wont care if it is annual fee, or late fee, or interest.
as long as no min payment received by due date, it will be recorded as defaulter.

now, for next 6 months, continue pay all statement balance on all credit card / loan (if applicable), and do not purchase any new installment / easy payment plan.
then only try to re-apply scb

no. cashback is not an income sweat.gif

Hi. I have question to ask. May I know if I have a credit card that I don’t utilise (zero balance), does it affect my credit scoring as I’m not making any payment due to zero balance? Does Not making any payment consider a miss payment? Can someone highlight to me. Thanks.
*
no it wont affect because no outstanding. but pls do check the annual fee and rm25 service tax fee have been charged on the statement or not. because if this 2 also didnt pay then yes it affect the records.

QUOTE(laymank @ Sep 28 2018, 08:12 AM)
Depends on your total eligible credit. Unless you have many credit commitments, i.e. many cards, which took up all the eligible credits, then only application to get loan or new cards will be difficult. This can be easily worked around by reducing credit limit of rarely used credit cards, so that the eligible credit increases. The other way would be - higher income. smile.gif
*
true. high cl may affect new loan.

*
maybank? if salary credited to maybank usually high chance can get their cards.

maybank (and now is like mostly all bank) can print your epf with their machine using your mykad. so u just bring your mykad. no need to print out epf earlier.

epf is a solid proof of your monthly income, but you can also submit the printed payslip if u want.

in the end, the bank still can choose not to approved notworthy.gif

try non-local bank 1st.

me (about 12 years ago), maybank cimb hlb all reject my card even my salary credited to maybank and i do have epf.
so i go to non-local bank such as uob, scb and hsbc. all approved lol laugh.gif

my 1st "local" bank credit card got approved is public bank (that time is esso mobil). few years later only maybank hlb cimb approved my card. maybank even give me extra VS even i just apply amex 2 cards plat that time rclxub.gif

the interesting part for me is, airasia seems able to make hlb agree not to put their hlb logo in the card.
previously citibank aa got citi logo & hsbc aa indonesia got hsbc logo together with airasia logo

read hlb cc PDS.

i have hlb essentials (converted from wise before) and hlb mach. both got annual fee waiver. but at their pds did mentioned annual fee waiver with 12x swipes per year.

and yes i terminate wise because cannot waived annual fee and after they change the min rm2k to get cb.
hlb give me essentials to transfer the cashback from wise into it. smooth transaction thumbup.gif

aa sure cannot waived on 2nd year. if can they already promote it example spend rm30k for 2nd year waiver (like mbb vs) or etc.

seems like apply then use it kaw2 on 1st year then terminate before 2nd year annual fee come in laugh.gif

Hi, i would like to ask something.

I recently applied maybank 2 cards and i got it. Upon collection, i went to apply ikhwan master and called cust service to cancel my m2c visa immediately.

Just now i received sms from mbb saying my visa has been cancelled. However my application for ikhwan master has been rejected for undisclosed reason.

I cannot apply for another card straight away back to back just like that? This is my first time applying mbb cc
*
islamic and conventional banking will issue seperate cards with separate limit.

u should, confirmed to have ikhwan approved 1st, then only cancel m2c.
but, why cancel m2c? if u really max the amex on weekend, cb is rm600/year minus sst rm50 still profit 4.58%

Hi guys. I need help. Let's say, I wanna make payment for 4k, n that shop didn't have installment service. So after I swipe my card, is there any way i can convert it into monthly installment with 0 interest? Or only can balance transfer? Which will be imposed with activation fees based on the bank we choose. Thanks
*
the best is HLB. 12 months 0% via hlb online banking.

but u didnt mentioned what card u using.

other bank also got that "flexi-pay" facility. uob, hsbc, scb, ambank, aeon. but only hlb offer 0% for 12 months.
swipe the card, wait 3 days (or till the transaction appear in online banking) then call bank to convert it.
some bank such as uob and ambank even send sms offering u the services and u just need to reply the sms with YES to convert it to monthly installment.

HLB providing 12months 0% for all transaction? or just specific stores?

it is swipe-first-convert-later-viaonlinebanking.

scb online banking also got this option but not 0% la.

but to answer u, YES for EVERYTHING min rm500 combined transaction (while scb must min rm500 on single transaction).
u can pay insurance rm400 then tnb rm200 then convert it to rm50/month lol
or topup airasia bigpay rm1200 to buy airlines ticket and pay rm100/month whistling.gif

Is it possible to swtich card within a bank? That means i have card A with the bank but i want card B and cancel card A. Do bank have any policy to change my card while retaining the same credit limit and without going through the application process again? hmm.gif
*
from my experience, no problem with hlb & uob.

previously use hlb wise - cancel it when they change to new tnc & at the same time apply essentials - cashback from last statement of wise goes into essentials.

while my bro in law, use hlb matta - cancel it since no more benefits & at the same time apply sutera - transactions from matta straight goes into sutera.

for uob, i cancel vox & also at the same time apply yolo. my vox that time still got remaining 4 months 0% easi payment plan.
next statement shows both credit card num but i just need to pay full statement balance into yolo and it will offset the vox too.
once vox easi payment finished, the next statement just shows yolo num.

oh both my hlb and uob cases are done via phone call only. no need to go branch or fill form etc.
hlb is on nov 2016 while uob is on oct 2017

QUOTE(tenukkongkong @ Dec 3 2018, 08:59 AM)
Hi friends,

I want to ask about credit card. I have a hlb credit card that i get last month. I want to take item via cc but planning to do installment (flexi payment plan). My cc limit is 5000 MYR. The standard procedure will be i take item eg: 4000myr price, then the shop will convert as a installment for 12 month.

Should be 4000 Myr / 12 month = 350 Myr for monthly. Hlb interest 8.99% if i dont pay within the period time.

The problem is some one said to me that this flexi payment plan is a trap.

Examples:

i take item worth 4000 Myr than i convert to monthly installment for 12 month.

My CC limit will be 5000-4000 = Myr 1000. The installment is succeed and i pay 350Myr monthly. Let say i pay this month for 350 Myr.

4000 - 350 = 3650 left for my loan. Then he said thats the problem because the 3650 myr, bank will charge an interest based on that.  rclxub.gif

I dont understand at all. Some said not charge, some said charge. Please do advice me.

Thanks.
P\S: VERY VERY CONFUSED cry.gif

1. use shop/merchant installment plan, example is at harvey norman, then it will be really 0%

at the slip usually will show like this, 1st payment 337, 2nd-12th payment is 333.

assume no new swipe at all, pay the statement balance every month and nothing need to be worry.

2. if the merchant didnt offer installment plan for hlb (example only have maybank & cimb machine), u just swipe full 4k, then yes u can apply for flexi payment plan via hlb connect.

hlb got offer 0% for 12 months, so it will be same as no 1 above, but will divide exactly 12 months. so expect monthly will be 333.34

if, u dont have the 0% option, then just choose option available for u (maybe 8.99% p.a for 18 months). refer picture below:

Attached Image

but sorry i dont know the interest calculation for 8.99% plan there notworthy.gif
