Since OCBC Titanium thread was closed many years ago I hope it is ok to pose this here. This article below stated that it is possible to get 5% CB for paying Unifi/Streamyx using OCBC Titanium but I don't see how.

I am doing this, for overseas spending this month...
(1) HLB Wise, 10% @ RM1000-equivalent, >2500 winners, chance quite good.
(2) Maybank FCB VS / M2 Amex, 10%, 3000 winners, but must spend >RM1000-equivalent. (sms TRAVEL ...)
(3) RHB VS/WM, 2% CB (or more) if monthly spend (coming statement) >RM3500.
(4) SC JOP, eyeing extra CB from the spin game.
(5) Bigpay.

Thanks bro, I will go for 5. BP is still d best. FCB n JOP fully used up in BP top-up this month.

In case you may apply for GST refund... bring a less useful CC as well. Avoid FCB VS, Cash rebate CC, BP.

Thanks for the reminder.

Hi,
Anyone know which credit card got "car rental insurance"?
Im planning to rent a car in Europe & the rental company ask me to buy their insurance which is seriously "not cheap!!"
Just wondering if any cards got this insurance covered if i swipe it for car rental.

If i go to Europe & swipe at restaurant, the bank card will charge an extra 1.25%-1.50% on top of the Pound/Euro dollar i swipe.
which card charges the least or none, international transaction fees?

Thanks for information 🙇🏻

Is it still required to inform banks that we might be using their creditcards overseas? Just called MBB and CS said no longer needed for creditcard but debitcard needs activation for overseas use.

yeah, the regulatory and banks are not taking firm action to correct this unethical behavior.

it's already a wrong practise, yet if no one taking stern action against them, it becomes a norm.  mad.gif

only way is keep complaining.
anyhow, try propose bridal shop to use bigpay  laugh.gif

i did it to mine, until both parties are transacting via bigpay. furthermore, bridal shop can use the fund in bigpay for their goods/services payment too. easy for them. also, bridal shop reduce using cc terminal which charges hgiher MDR fee.

just some idea  laugh.gif

For retired person without taxable income (no more filing income tax), can still hold all 10 existing credit cards? What about applying for extra HL cards that don't require income documents?

What if I am holding >2 cards and after retired earn <rm36k taxable income, do I have to cancel my existing cards and also can no longer apply for more HL CCs?

RM36K annual income, not Taxable income.
So assume someone has RM1 Mil FD,  he should have >RM36k Passive Income.

Anyone has successfully apply CCs with non-taxable income, like dividend?

Bank Rakyat´s new credit card offers 5 pct cashback on hotel, airline purchases

http://bernama.com/en/news.php?id=1772200

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 27 (Bernama) -- Bank Rakyat has become the first bank in Malaysia to launch a travel credit card-i that offers customers a 5% cashback on any hotel and airline ticket purchases up to RM1,000 per annum.

Bank Rakyat acting managing director Datuk Rosman Mohamed said the Bank Rakyat Platinum Explorer Credit Card-i was a collaboration product with Mastercard.

“With over six million customers and a total card base of 2.2 million currently, we aim to attract 1,000 new applicants per month for this newly launched credit card.

“As at August this year, we have more than 400,000 credit cardholders and we are confident of achieving the target, aimed specifically at young Malaysian travellers based on the increased demand for intra-regional spending,” he told a press conference after the launch here today.

He said Bank Rakyat sees strong growth in overseas and travel-related spending that makes the launch of this travel credit card as timely to better serve the burgeoning travel segment.

The Bank Rakyat Platinum Explorer Credit Card-i is a Shariah-compliant credit card that specially tailored for the frequent travellers’ segment.

Meanwhile, Mastercard Asia-Pacific Pte Ltd country manager Perry Ong said the card also marked a milestone for Mastercard as it features a soon-to-be-launched global cash rebate programme that allows Mastercard cardholders to enjoy exclusive, automatic overseas cashback offers when they travel and shop.

“Mastercard cards have become the complete travel companion. Together with Mastercard’s curated offers and exclusive privileges to shop, eat, stay and play at destinations around the globe, cardholders will be able to make the most of every travel moment, from planning to exploring at their chosen destination,” Ong added.

The benefits of the newly launched credit card include complimentary three times access to Plaza Premium Lounges in Malaysia per year, access to Mastercard Priceless Cities and Priceless Specials offers, earn Rakyat Reward points to redeem cash, a zero markup on foreign exchange and no annual fee.

All Bank Rakyat credit cardholders also will enjoy unlimited five per cent petrol cashback every Thursday at all petrol stations nationwide from October 2019 to December 2019.

I want to make a purchase of RM10k, but my credit limit is only RM5k.

Is it possible I prior debit RM5k-RM10k into my credit card, and make the purchase more than my credit limit (RM10k)?
