Hi,
I've been trying to apply for entry-level credit cards, and my applications have been rejected. I suspect they were rejected because I do not have a credit history. I have not applied for any loans since I graduated.
I do not want to pledge my savings for credit card. What are the other possible ways for me to get a credit card? I want to get one to build a credit history. Although, how important is a credit history in the first place?
I was stuck in the same situation as you, I didn't and couldn't do anything to ease the process but to just wait. Also, try to get a job with more than the minimum RM2,000 salary per month (even RM2,050 is enough) and wait till your EPF has at least 6-7 months of contribution. I waited 6 months, tried AEON Credit and was approved but with the lowest credit limit, which is RM2,000
"How important is a credit history in the first place?"
- Quite, if you've built a credit history through credit cards then to be approved for loans in the future for either Housing or Auto Purchase will easier as the banks can see your track record.
