I've searched some parts of lowyat before, but many of the posts are years ago. Any sifu can recommend a shop that sells motorcycle gears? Original products and what not (as I know there are some imitates).
Thoughts on MotoGear ? Thanks |

QUOTE(Eilrach @ Sep 2 2018, 04:38 PM) There's a Dainese shop in Subang, sells original Dainese gear Thank you sir. I was initially sceptical about the Dainese shop, but thanks ! Also, Do you happen know any shops that sells Shark or LS2 helmets? Apart from Motogear haha. https://www.facebook.com/daineseMY/ For Alpinestars you can go Welly Shah Alam or Takong Racing. Hodaka Motoworld has Komine and TCX, you can find Komine in Motogear as well, but very limited LSH Racing in Solaris sells Rev'it and other gears. NKS sport bikers sells orignal HJC helmets. Thank you sifu. |

QUOTE(Eilrach @ Sep 2 2018, 10:42 PM) One of the main reseller for Shark is Spartan Concept Store near Sunway. They have Furygan gear as well. LS2 i'm not too sure, but i know there's plenty of shops selling LS2. Or you can wait for MotoGP, confirm will have a large LS2 booth there. Oh, that's sweet ! I apologize in advance If my questions are a little silly, but do you reckon there'll be "promotional prices" for gears (cheap gears) during motogp ? If so, Will there be many vendors (like the above mentioned shops) during the event ? |

Stupid question here , where do I stick my L LICENSE sticker? Is there like a requirement (eg one in front one at the back?). Any one can suggest creative ideas on how to stick behind of the bike when there's no platform to stick to lol

QUOTE(Ride2ride @ Jan 22 2019, 10:51 PM) Hi, im waiting for the honda cbr250rr. Any indication when it will come in to Malaysia? And how do i keep updated with the development of this news? Thank you I believe it has been 2-3 years since it was release and malaysia has yet to bring it in. A discussion here in LYN, mention that it may never happen due to some unapproved specs or some sort |

QUOTE(Ride2ride @ Jan 27 2019, 10:07 AM) Thanks for the suggestions guys. Still cant get over cbr250rr haha. But im looking at either r25 or ninja 250 2018..how do i choose based on pros and cons for ones preferred usage? As some mentioned above , the 2018 ninja 250 (now comes with abs and non abs version) or the R25 (2018 or 2019 ones). I honestly find both to be similar, though I can't give a detailed comparison as I myself just started riding the r25, I'd say the r25 has better handle than the ninja in terms of weight and height , but the differences are pretty minute. You can also consider second-hand ninja 250 which are models before the 2018 ones. Can Google around and see, but here's what I can summarize (not fully detailed) 2018 R25 Pros : - cheaper than the ninja by rm5-6k (comparing brand new to brand new unit) - "claimed by many" to have more aftermarket parts , modding parts are easily found online - easy handling (lighter weight than the ninja) - claimed by many to be the best performing bike in the 250cc bike category - includes all the necessary parameters on the lcd screen up to date (the new 2019 model will be using full digital screen, including the rpm meter) - easier to get parts (kawasaki is also said to be the same) compared to some other brand Cons: - bloody headlight is one sided , high beam will only turn two lights on. - a few recalls , but thankfully I havent kena any - heard not every slip on can be used on them due to the connecting area towards thea ccatalytic converter (have to recheck on this, I was told by some) - limited colour , though still not bad - No abs , even on the newer models - normal brakes , nothing fancy - tyres are nothing special , some have said it causes slipping while cornering though I've never experience it yet . But no biggie can always change I can't give you the details pertaining to the ninja 250 but you can Google and comparea the specs they're more or less the same , but many have said new improvements have been made on the ninja. The above list is just what I've experienced and heard from, they're not complete nor are they 100% true (there may be some vague points which needs further reconfirmation) |

QUOTE(g3n0c|d3 @ Jan 29 2019, 12:33 PM) Thanks for clarifying. I'm still relatively new haha. About the aftermarket parts, I meant the "non performance and merely aesthetic" parts. But yes, you're right ! I've only seen bikeempire selling one full system for r25, not many varieties, while motodynamics does akra and sc (expensive af and limited varieties). Edit: the new 2019 model now comes with LED and no longer single headlamp What bike are you currently using ? I'm assuming a zx6r? Haha . This post has been edited by kshen: Jan 29 2019, 09:16 PM |

Hi SIFUs, any one knows the current situation for importing/shipping in a helmet from overseas? Or the procedure. The helmet I aiming at is ECE and DOT certified.

QUOTE(basilisk @ Feb 28 2019, 12:32 AM) which helmet u wana buy? here no have? I see , any idea what rating the "something something" 2.2 is? I've never heard of that before haha. Yeah, the helmet I was eyeing for isn't available here in Malaysia, it's the limited edition Ruroc Atlas Ronin , comes with free smoked visor. Any idea whether the 10% tax is still going on ? Coz if the cost exceeds 4k and whatnot, then it's not worth it hahaif you dont want hassle or trouble.. then better buy here. jpj dont look @ dot. only the un wht wht 2.2. which have the 'E' logo.. on the helmet strap, and also on the visor. [attachmentid=10192801] [attachmentid=10192802] [attachmentid=10192799] The latest news frm jpj was last dec 18 2018. [attachmentid=10192800] jpj said will work with kastam starting this year. only approved helmet will be allowed in. Last time, non approved helmet, u can go jpj to apply for 'personal collection' . But now, not sure, cos they din address this issue. If your helmet ship tru poslaju/ems, very high chance will kena kastam inspect. later i post some pic. https://www.ruroc.com/da/atlas-limited-edit...tlas-ronin.html ![]() ![]() This post has been edited by kshen: Feb 28 2019, 02:53 PM |

QUOTE(basilisk @ Feb 28 2019, 03:01 PM) its ece 22.05. which ruroc said the helmet has got that certification. I see, thanks sifu for thethe guidance. I was thinking of using a third party shipping company instead but not too sure whether can escape or not.but.. u hv to make sure tht its got tht tag on the strap n also on the visor, cos tht visor also need to hv tht certification aswell. i dont know bout tax for helmet, cos motor helmet is under restricted, or larangan to import. need to check again with kastam tax bible. QUOTE(basilisk @ Feb 28 2019, 03:14 PM) i not sifoo la, but i minat buy helmet oso.. so i go dig alot info. Touche. Thanks bro for the advice .u need to contact ruroc n to make sure the helmets got that E tag, cos only eu countries require that, if they ship u helmet intended for america etc market, they dont put that tag, got Dot instead. third party shipping company, u need to ask how n using wht method they ship frm say usa. if poslaju / usps better avoid. shipment tht handle by agents, hv better chance of 'lepas'. for eg, those taobao shipment. almost always lepas one. i bought helmet frm taobao ship sensitive, can lepas.. |
