A HJC CS15 cost RM380 and IzTwo Jacket at RM390 is quite good enough as starting. That’s what I using now. Just start ride 1.5 year ago. Not even have a P License some more. Haha
*
where you getting CS15 for RM 380? Am looking for one but everything online shows 500+

Was looking at a bell qualifier or a Nolan N65. Not too sure which to go for now.

Sunway Welly, but they closed down and move back to HQ already.
Retail price is RM500, i bought during promotion.
Durian Bike is selling Bell Qualifier below RM400 now, do check with them if still have size.

How's the cs15? Removable liner?

Removable liner, so far is little too tight especially on face area, i took size XL. i read info from somewhere changing the liner to smaller size could help. Other than that is quite ok for the price, just wish it have double visor.
Anyway i never ride very long distance yet, max 1 hour single way so cant comment on long distance comfort.
Meet some biker before mentioned they cannot feel their face after long distance ride. haha
*
Just saw a qualifier DLX on Durian Bikers going for 560. Minus voucher prolly 510? Comes with dual visor. XL size only, so out for me.

Other M sizes are around 415, looks reasonable.

the cheapest original riding pants i found was already 5xx... but pants ya.. not riding jeans.. riding jeans mebbe can get cheaper.

for boots u should look at what LSH has to offer....they have some revit and forma boots below rm300

QUOTE(Zephyral @ Jul 6 2020, 03:33 PM)
a bit difficult tbh.... that being said, the cheapest brand name boots i seen was the RM199 Revit from LSH during their sales. not sure if that is still available.

Thanks for the suggestions. Should've gotten it when I was abroad I guess.

Probably visit LSH this weekend to have a look see on jeans.

Just checking if anyone bought a used bike before? Just want to know what's the procedures on weekend. I know about the JPJ forms and fees, but I realised insurance will be hard to buy for >250cc without an agent.

UTC for name transfer? Roadtax and insurance? Weekend ya, weekday I know the standard stuff.

They earbuds have finally arrived.

Mack's pink and purple are good for small ear canals.

Cheaper options can use 3M EAR FX, too. Better than conventional memory foam in terms of lower expansion pressure, and up to 34dB noise reduction at low frequency (39dB at high frequency). Highly recommend this disposable type.

Those with stick ones are not suitable for small ear canals, but indeed are easy to attach without rolling down. But, riding with those sticks type is definitely a bad idea.

Yet to try Fidelity earplugs, those with ceramic core that supposedly designed for concert use. Maybe another day.
*
Any tips wearing them on a full face. I tried some plugs the other day and once I pull it over my ears, it just slipped off. I had to slip my finger in while putting my helmet on..

which earplugs do you have?
In my case, the 3M EARFX. They need to be inserted until flush with earlobes.

As you pull the helmet over, you might need to cover the earplugs with thumbs, as the neck roll slides over.
Another way, is to have balaclava. This definitely helped when I tried. Waiting for my balaclava to arrive.
*
Fair, I'm using the stick type and it keeps getting caught. Might be time to try on a balaclava

QUOTE(Quazacolt @ Aug 4 2020, 10:04 PM)
i wear this and no problem fitting it before i wear my balaclava then helmet. no need to slip finger in at all.

Seems like a balaclava does the trick. Probably go with that.

Yup, but met up with a shiver gang, they told me mine might be a grey unit due to the coding. Still, sounds great!

OMG, Shiver with Akra.
What coding?
Yeah, I would understand. Being a customer doesn't mean we're entitled AF.
*
There is a serial code engraved in one of the brackets. Mine is printed. So not too sure. I am the 3rd owner, and the 2nd owner is clueless as well. So I'll just leave it be haha

Experienced peeps, what are the hidden codes of filtering through traffic? Eg signal right means they want to overtake, horn means I braked too much or car was an ass etc etc

Was caught in a jam this evening, on my shiver, I did not dare to pass through some of the tight spaces in between cars. There are about 3-4 kapcais behind me. No space to let them overtake, am sure they are more nimble around tight spaces. What should I do in this case?

Sorry I didn't know. How was it? I presume you went there last weekend?

Oh, then there's the launch of another sportster:

Not too bad, I had to turn round and round a few times, but eventually got there. The tutorials in youtube is a bit outdated, that parking is being reno-ed or something, totally walled off for both cars and bikes.

Parking available below:
P4 (Outdoor with multilevel basement-type carpark, outside resort hotel)
P5 (First world hotel B1)
Skyavenue: Saw some bikes parking near the entrance, but after asking the guards, they said its not proper bike park and got led to first world instead.

Both packed with bikes. P5 has more spaces. I think security wise for the bike alone is okay, no security guard but you can see triumphs and bmws parking without locks, so I assume my bike is safe.
Boxes on the other hand, I see many putting helmets in their top box, so, no idea. I carried mine around/put in friend's car.

GPO is B1, turn around the whole complex, on the slope down right after the drop off lobby there is a parking entrance, on the left there is a bike parking entrance. Same case as genting, a lot of big bikes, all locked up with either disc or sprocket lock. Large space too compared to first world. Helmets in boxes too for the 3-4 bikers+pillions that I've observed when parking.

Anyone knows where to buy a carton of engine oil? My bike needs 3.2L per change, if I can get a 6-12 pack at a cheaper price, that would be great.

Online, always cheaper there... plus sometimes got free shipping/discount coupons/coin rebates etc to lower the price even more. Just be sure to check the seller rating & reviews to avoid getting conned by fake oil peddlers.

I bought a dozen (1 carton) of fully synthetic for like RM20/bottle.
*
pm link. I tried searching online but can't find a big list of carton sellers. Only Yamalube available in carton of 12. Next biggest size was motul 5100 at 4L.

ER6 caliper not so hot, I think 1 or 2 cases only I heard throughout my 1year+ joining... Only the master brake pump and brake+clutch lever the monthly cases... For yours, I wonder how u gonna change brake pad later? Haha...  sweat.gif
*
Oh, I meant lock nuts for everything on the handle bars. Brake and clutch master cylinders and both levers as well. So I couldn't adjust it and I was tempted to replace the bolts. Never knew these were also hot items for thieves.

Brake pads came with lock nuts when I bought it, but I found the key in the bike's tool kit, so all good biggrin.gif

Yup, might steal some sales from the CB. But I think they still won't overtake the sales of the CB simply because of the perception that maintaining a Euro bike is expensive with weaker aftersales network representation
*
this perception will compound and makes things worse in the long run. Sadly nothing we can do about it. Regular maintenance wise I think the trident might be more economical. Parts wise depends on demand I guess.

so this perception is true or not?

tbh I am not sure. I only mingled with the Shiver peeps before, so all of them are euro bike friendly.

But looking on the streets, it looks like it is I guess. I have only seen Aprilias, KTMs and BMWs, even then its like 1 out 10 bikes, with the rest japanese.
