QUOTE(mADmAN @ Nov 22 2021, 02:05 PM) bring rain suit...this is malaysia.. no such thing as "after raining season".... its always raining somewhere in this country. theres also those rain boot covers u can buy on lazada/shopee. pack light. minimize unnecessary clothes. like the clothes u wear when riding. wear clothes that are the quick dry type. i wear those compression long sleeve shirt and compresion long pants under my riding pants n jacket. after the ride, i will give it a quick wash (i bring a small packet of laundry detergent) in the hotel room and let it dry.... itll be dry again when its time to ride the next day. this already saves me 2 sets of clothes...compression clothes are also good to minimize fatigue when riding...theres a science behind it.. google if u wanna know more. for luggage, if u have luggage boxes then not much of an issue.. but if ur planning on a backpack, make sure the backpack has those chest straps.. it really helps to get weight off ur shoulders. or if u can... make it rest on the rear seat.....mine i can do both..chest strap and at the same time it also rests on my waist pouch bag which i put to the back when riding. so i can wear the bag without discomfort for a full day with no issues. and again... malaysia, rain. if u pack in a back pack, better make sure theres a way to keep ur clothes dry in the bag. when riding, drink water. if u stop for breaks for fuel, lunch etc... make it short. u dont want ur body to power down. u want the adrenaline to keep pumping. u can power down when u reach ur destination. |

QUOTE(g3n0c1d3 @ Nov 22 2021, 04:40 PM) Im considering to ride back to penang in md dec too. My nephew getting married so going back penang and cuti2 over there as well. woahh.. 1000 cc Usually i’ll start my ride at night time. Its colder and more bareable. With riding jacket, backpack, fullface helmet, thick jeans, the heat from the engine and boots, i cant stand riding on the day time. The not so good about riding at night is the visibility. Usually i’ll ride alone because i can take my own sweet time n stop anywhere i want. Hopefully i can make it happen since i never ride my new bike to penang. Wanna try 1000cc power on the long stretch. i too only ride alone so that i can slow down at times to enjoy the scenery or what's not wheneever i want without needing to play catch up all the time. I'm afraid to travel at night along the nkve stretch due to poor visibility and if i recall correctly not the entire stretch has lamppost right? which makes it even more dangerous. |

QUOTE(alexei @ Jan 26 2022, 10:44 AM) Welcome to motorcycling. how to determine when the tyre is best to change? for cars its pretty easy to make a call but when it comes to motorcycles i dont have a clue. 10k - 20 k mileage is quite a big range to followFor motorcycle maintenance, it is best to start with their owner's manual, and just looking at the periodic maintenance. This helps to understand what to ask when buying a used bike, too. Also, be open mind to different beliefs of maintenance. Tyres - a big question mark, and very much depends on how it is used. Pressure, throttle/brake control, road conditions (temperature, roughness, camber etc), suspension etc affects tyre life. They can range between under 10k km, to 30k km. If you're lucky, front tyre last longer than rear, by about 2x. In my case, a top of the line sports touring lasted 10k km, and both front and rear are worn at the same time. Price range from 600~1k. Some brands are more suitable to our climate, than others - a point to keep in mind when going through online reviews. |

QUOTE(Hades76 @ Jan 26 2022, 12:17 PM) Sport touring tyres usually has dual compound ( middle hard, side soft ). These are like BT32, Roadtec 01 or PR5. These can usually last around 15 - 20K. For hardcore touring tyres are like Anarkee or BT A41 ( hard compound all round ). These can go beyond 20K but grip for cornering and wet is not that great. QUOTE(mADmAN @ Jan 26 2022, 12:26 PM) QUOTE(alexei @ Jan 26 2022, 01:36 PM) When it comes to tyre, it is best to be conservative. Mileage is a rule, TWI (tyre wear indicator) is another. For me, depending on the use of the bike, I may include time of service, and definitely frequent inspection for irregular wear. thanks for the info. what about the lifespan of the tyre. how many years can it last before the need to change a new one even if it didnt run for long especially for weekend riders. i keep my bike sheltered all the time when its parked.A recent dual compound tyre for my kapcai, dated 2014, has developed a crack along the dual compound boundary. Tyre is still good from wear indicator point of view. Some people may use it. I decided to retire it. Certain tyre compound is sensitive to heat cycle, but that rarely applies to road going tyres. Road going tyres however, is more sensitive to overheating. In my experience, you will notice the tread harden, and chipping off as it wears. |

QUOTE(genesiscopy @ Feb 15 2022, 01:12 AM) I think Metro Puchong gives a bit of a leeway as well. For zero experience they ask the rider to practice balancing on an ex5 first before going on the ER6n. really? last time for me, the instructor straight tell me get on the ER6N right away even though i told him i have not ride before prior to the course. Spent the entire day practicing clutch control and getting comfortable turning on ER6NAnd no extra charge for repeat exams. |

would like to ask regarding insurance for our bikes. The insurance company wont allow any compensation if the accident happened ie let's say federal highway/kesas on the main road (not motorcycle lane). reason being denied any claim is due to not using designated lane for bikes.
Is it true? |

QUOTE(lsm1991 @ Aug 30 2022, 03:24 AM) so im gons start my lessons soon, gona get myself a bike.... realize i cant deal with the weight of the 6xx+cc bikes, so gona start with a 250cc you're taking B full or B2? if you're taking B full then you wont be having problems with 6xx++ cc weight already.anyone have any comments on the r25 or ninja 250? its real odd that the used ninjas seem to go for slightly less than the r25 given they cost more new any known big issues with the r25 aside from the numerous recalls? i also hear kawasaki parts might cost abit more than yamaha bits? this true? |

QUOTE(alexei @ Oct 20 2022, 03:39 PM) Haha, I like your question. am just curious because i see quite a number of people who sells their bike after 2-3 years of usage (around 10k- 30k mileage) am wondering why they change bike so fast. because parts might be scarce as it age? because its harder to maintain due to high mileage or the ride is no longer smooth cuz high mileage? Do you need motivation to upgrade? Or reasons to stay with your current bike? Shortest ownership was a restoration project that's sold under 2 years. Longest one is 20+ years and counting. Most recent bike I bought is 3 years and counting. am saving up money to buy cb650r and also plan to use it for many years to come but scared that parts might be scarce since this model wont be in their lineup soon i suppose (replaced by honda hornet i think) newbie rider here so i doubt i will feel gatal wanting to change bike every 2-3 years |

QUOTE(alexei @ Oct 24 2022, 09:52 PM) I can list many reasons ppl sell bike, mainly is already change of heart, so sell lo. Some people say before, buy the bike that you like, that's all. Most people, they like the idea of biking with a purpose (commute, race, touring etc) or whatever and then choose the bike. For me, is the other way around, I choose the bike I like, and do whatever with it. For Honda, it's possible it will last 200k before major overhaul is needed. The CBR is powerful enough for most people but not for me, be prepared to get bored quickly if you're after a bike with more sporty oomph. I am interested in getting the CB650R, not the CBR. currently riding cb250r (first bike after getting my license) but getting abit itchy now wanting to upgrade. would like to have the extra power if i need it and am told its buttery smooth, less vibration. the CB250R struggles past 130km/h on highways, and the vibration from the bike is as tho im sitting on a high powered vibrator Why do you like the CBR650R? QUOTE(Dreadlock13 @ Oct 24 2022, 10:12 PM) I save up before mco. Then lost the savings really do hope they still keep the cb650r in their lineup for a while longer, so i can save up to purchase Then start savings again. Save enough now. I booked the bike on August. But the waiting line is long. So I'm still waiting for my order. Probably 2 on 3 months or earlier if I'm lucky. If by that time I can save enough. I would probably cash it. I wish you luck brother. And yes I choose cb650r because reliability. And yes the hornet will probably replace the 650. But the in-line 4 is a rare breed now. Get it now or never. |

QUOTE(Nightstalker1993 @ Oct 25 2022, 11:27 PM) And this is how someone measuring 177cm tall and 100kg in weight looks like on the Cb650r. I make it look like a Cb250r QUOTE(jaycee1 @ Oct 26 2022, 12:28 PM) On paper maybe not so much. what are your thoughts on the triumph trident 660 vs cb650r?But on the road the CB/CBR feels a bit weaker until you wring out the engine to the 12k redline. The twins and tripples have more responsive mid range for city riding. The GSXS benefit from a larger engine, and thus more mid range torque. price wise its the same but the trident looks smaller than the cb650r, Im 180 cm 85 kg, dont wanna feel like an elephant riding a monkey like what a member said earlier read that the cb has less vibration than the trident, and imo i think the cb650r sounds better than the trident? but the trident is also lighter than the cb650r which is quite a huge plus point. QUOTE(Nightstalker1993 @ Nov 2 2022, 12:09 AM) Getting worried I won't be getting it by December-January as promised, while I can get an orange Trident by next week if I really want to. i should start placing booking early next year already if the wait is so damn long. |

QUOTE(lsm1991 @ Nov 16 2022, 12:10 AM) wind wise.... oklah not too bad... i err have not gotten around to getting any proper riding attire yet, around 90 the wind is strong but not too bad, round 120-130 it starts to 'undress' you, at 160 good god its not fun. my helmet still pakai the schools given helmet. hit 100 with this your head wobbles around, supposed to tukar when i have time got to find a place with the tt corse and the bilmola to try. have not try going at 160 since my bike can't reach that speed. |
