Hmmm ... try Googling some musicians' blogs. I came across one which listed out a detail equipment (pedals, pickups, amp) to get a certain tone & sound. I was going around looking for some Clapton tones.

They even stated plug which thing first then the next and then the next then finally to the guitar.

You can try to search if there's like a Megadeth fan blog or something like that.

Yup. Mustaine uses Rocktron because according to him, they are the most durable units ever.

speaking of which rocktron pedals really sound killer
i tested the big ben overdrive a couple of times
and everytime it amazes me
really creamy n plentiful gain when running through clean amp and really strong booster on dirty amps

negative part is its 600 price tag
sigh

I can charge you Rm100 for that paint job. Just need to buy a Rm9.90 Red Spray can and block the can's nozzle. laugh.gif

And I'll add "Made by TheWhacker" biggrin.gif

Jokes aside, its very bad paint job really .... I won't spend on that guitar while others go "what did you do to your guitar ?????"

did you guys try the Metal planet from rocktron? very solid and powerfull sound. . . tried it in ironwood. . . all the rocktron feels damn durable and solid. . . but the price for them are kinda steep cause they are presmumably the high enders pro pedals. . .

They charged me RM50 per pickup, but was really fast service. Put it in the day, got it back the next day.

do u have any links to blogs that just specially list out gears and setups of musicians? smth like guitargeek.com

QUOTE(zeroglyph @ Mar 30 2007, 09:25 PM)
any other comments?

i think most of you misunderstood. this will not be my main effect and is not my 1st effect. i'm not a beginner. so this will be used as supplementary to my other pedals. but i'm concern about the integration part. will it integrate well? will it have any effect on the original tone? i'm gonna get it used, but i'd hate not being able to integrate it with my current setup, being digital and all. i don't mind the so-so effect part, you get what u paid for. just the ability to mix in.

what other pedals do u have? ive seen this impressive post rock band which uses alot of pedals to get out of this world effects. he has everything u can think of(all those vintage and rare pedals), yet he has 2 zooms (a 505II and an older 505). he says he just specifically wanted that zoom sound (not all, just some effects) for certain things. he also uses a keyboard gig bag for his pedals, only his was so full that when he opened the gig bag, both sides(inside and on the 'cover') of the gig bag was full of pedals.

if thats what u want then go for it. as for me, guitar and amp tone is much more important than effects. with that much of effects, u're gona sacrifice tone.

thanks for the comment echo.

i'm not gonna go crazy like that laugh.gif . but that's how i wanna use the zoom. been using MT2 and self-moded hellbabe wah for years. don't really wanna change much tone, just adding those tiny little stuff(reverb on pedal, flange, comp). i'm scared the zoom's gonna effect the original tone because it's digital. i've read somewhere that the zoom will gives too much bass even if the EQ is off. anyway, thanks for the info.
