Maybe it's just that one time....... I haven't sent for servicing there, so I really wouldn't know....

I DO know, it's usually a long waiting list, so probably the luthier there will rush the job.

Supposedly, the no. 1 refret job in town is done by Abang Gigi (Sp?), somewhere in Ampang I think. No. 2 is Tham at Jalan Gasing.

I've sent a guitar to Tham for refretting and the job was top-notched. He's also done fret levelling for my other guitar... generally, his workmanship is really really good and the prices are reasonable. thumbup.gif

But sometimes he's really busy, so you may need to "book" a slot in advance... rclxms.gif

Refretting is no joke... if the tech is inexperienced or rushes through the job, he can seriously screw up your neck!

yeah..last time it was RM80 for setup and RM150 for redress

now its RM100 for setup , RM200 for redress

vulcan x just redress 2 guitars ..tham gave discount lar..RM380 for both lol biggrin.gif

but i think its pretty standard , Simon , John , Edwards all..not to say their price are wayyy cheaper than Tham ...plus..now the new fly over near UM ...

less Jam lar..last time i used to hate going to Tham's place , especially going home time , have to pass by the Sultan Abdul Samad school road ...jam like hell..

i've been wanting to play a few hard solos(at least for my standards) like cob - everytime i die, trivium - gunshot to the head of trepidation etc
but i always thought that it's still to early to learn something that hard so i'm wondering, should i be tackling the solos slowly, part by part or should i wait till i get better ?
some people say practing things which are too hard(like sweep picking) when you're too far away from it is actually bad, so..
