Quite true. Underpowered or enough power is mostly based on individual perception. I used to drive a 2.0L Optima. Many people will consider it underpowered but I considered it adequate for daily driving. I only feel the lack of power when climbing steep slopes. But for driving around town nothing to complain.

Now I'm driving a Mazda 3 and compared to the Optima I can certainly feel the difference in pickup when I want to drive spiritedly. But for normal driving not a lot of difference in feeling. So unless you are the type who likes to drive fast and furious a 2.0L D-segment should be adequate.

Isn't it the optima power do come out at higher rpm range?

Cz iinm the max torque quoted are at 4400 rpm

Why not settle for Perdana 2.4 if you are only looking for just 2.0 in Camry/Accord due its price advantage?
*
Agreed with ur suggestion.
Except some people do comment the interiors of new perdana is just too 2008-ish. There are only minor-minor changes done by proton, ie new hu and change interior theme color for 2.4.

Engine wise, k24 plus 5 gear auto do bring best for normal drive

No VSC. Better go buy Honda Accord 2.4 second hand.
Anyway Camry VVT-iw d4-s engine should be better than Honda Accord 2.0 one.
*
perdana 2.4 have VSC. 2.0 dont have.

VVT-iw vs i-vtec, which one better?
since i-vtec + VTC do adjust the valve advance etc and valve opening closing(intake only), wheres VVT on the valve opening closing.

if you ask me i'm torn too between this 2. i would look at mid-range Teana if comfort is your take and with 7 years warranty to back. then followed by Accord and Camry based on discounts given. smile.gif

The Teana is so old like it already obsolete in other markets.

In Malaysia they give us Impulse bodykit and rim but pricey

The majority of Accord, Camry and Teena are driven by middle-age or past middle age men because they have the means to buy them. However they should not be considered "uncle cars". If you are young and you drive one of these cars will people consider you an "uncle"? No, people will respect you as having the means to afford a D-segment car at a young age. Fetch your gf in them and you will impress your future mom-in-law far more than driving up in a Honda HRV. She's not going to think you are too "uncle" for her daughter just because you drive a car which is usually driven by people older than you.

On another note the term "uncle" is usually used in a slightly derogatory way nowadays to indicate an older and old-fashioned person who you would not want to associate with. It's not a good feeling to be called uncle nowadays (sigh).

The 9th gen Accord have hardest suspension among D segment u have mentioned.

Not sure if it due to 18" tyre size.
