Whoever said that TGV membership card is expensive clearly dont watch enough movie a year. Going to 3 years with TGV, all i ever paid was for registration and every year auto renew, u might want to stick to your inferior leg room space GSC.

Everytime i go watch movie, just buy using TGV membership and get reward point, all my drinks + popcorn usually free.

You can't do generalization like that.

I watch either GSC or TGV depending on the dates and location.

TGV D-Pulze Cyberjaya has small leg space compared to GSC IOI City Mall.

For less popular movies I will opt to go TGV D-Pulze because it's just 5 minutes away to my home. I can sacrifice leg small leg space for 2 hours for that.

For action movie I will go to MAXX Screen at GSC IOI City Mall. This hall has ample leg space too.

If I feel like indulging (mind the pun) I will opt for Indulge screen at TGV 1 Utama.

During foreign film festivals I will go to GSC Mid Valley to watch foreign movies that won't be shown on other cinemas.

For me the condition and atmosphere is most important. Used to think GSC is good, but TGV has improved a lot and now I think it’s even better than GSC.

generally the TGV I go in my area all have good leg room space. Never visited D-Pulze as it is pretty far away from me lol

1. Normal TGV membership card are expensive, because it costs RM30 with 1 year expire date and membership pack! Don't think about "TGV good value for money"! Because TGV membership card and normal tickets are too expensive! NOT A GOOD VALUE AND TOTALLY WASTE MONEY, sure it's totally fine for maybank users but for normal users (aka non maybank customers)....NO NO NO!

2. GSC cinema are also offers a membership card too, but it's free to sign up, the only problem is they only offer a membership virtual card (GSC ID) instead of the membership plastic card which not too bad but because it requires GSC app for phone to earn points by showing your phone with GSC,app+GSC ID number so it's a little bit hassle but consider TGV membership are expensive, GSC membership are free so it's good value for money.

3. If you want a Cinema membership card, go for MBO Cinema (StarClub card), their membership card are free to sign up and it has free lifetime membership so there is no expire date as no Renewal fee!

So, is the TGV cinema a good value for money? NO!
*
TGV membership include 2 movie ticket and 1 set of popcorn + drinks set la.. dei.. GSC birthday reward damn troublesome to claim.. need to print out then fill in details some more only can watch movies with asterisk which is old movie only.. rclxs0.gif

TGV birthday membership can watch any movie that is showing in their cinema and also can claim for couple seats. No need fill up any bull shit form and then watch old movies. Btw, regarding renewal membership, i dun remember that i was paid to renew my membership. As long as you use the membership card, the renewal fee is free. Even i pay for it, it just RM10 and upon renewal, you will continue to enjoy your Birthday Freebies (2 x FREE movie tickets1 and 1 regular popcorn with 1 regular soft drink). Still value for money and worth it. hmm.gif

I understand that it is harder to apply for Maybank credit card but they accept debit card also. Everyone can open a bank account in Maybank and get a debit card. I see why not if you want to apply that card for TGV purposes. innocent.gif

Besides that, TGV will invite members to participate in first screening of movies, just go to your mailbox and participate. GSC invite the publics to watch the first screening of new movie which mean that the chances you get the free pass is lesser than TGV because TGV only invite members to watch first screening. whistling.gif

Regarding MBO? Apply for starclub card for what? They only have a few cinema around klang valley. The nearest MBO near my location is Spark Desa Petaling which is a dead mall. If i want to go, i will only go Starling which is very far from my location. My nearest location is TGV Setiawalk, GSC ioi mall or GSC ioi city mall.

TGV is not value for money? think again! rolleyes.gif

For RM30, you get 2 tickets which you can use individually, and a medium popcorn with drinks set. In your birthday month, you get another pair of tickets. Depending on time and location, yes TGV tickets are more expensive than GSC, but it's not far more expensive.

Plus if you spend RM200 within a year of registration date, it will be auto-renewed and you get the benefits of paid renewal.

I think most dunno, to take advantage of pricing

Tgv is the cheapest,  if u know how

All movies new or old, before 6PM,  thru mbb cc, is RM 10flat..

Whereas GSC doesn't have that, all day except wed, (new movies)  charges fr RM 14-18

Tgv mostly have in aeon,  where parking is at most RM 1

Unlike gsc, no movie points or even membership

Yes, their food,  is expensive

GSC does have flat rate before 12PM IIANM, RM10 or so.

Uhhh that is not the thing, I'm just correcting that GSC, MBO and MMC do provide early bird pricing, not just TGV.

Just saw the RM10 for all movies before 6PM Maybank promo on the side of TGV Escalator .I always go RM8/9 movies before Noon on sunday and all day RM9 Wednesday but now i think no need anymore. can go to the before 6PM shows.

In Kuching TGV is best , Wide leg room in all of their halls , halls are quite big. Never go to GSC after TGV opened here in Kuching.

As a few mentioned about the App side of things, the app is now quite OK if you just jump straight to "Favorite " location after launch it will show the movies and showtimes for your local cinemas instead of choosing the movie and then the cinema.

The Pay by Masterpass Buy 1 free 1 (on next visit) promo is still going on and the free pass is good for ALL new and old movies and can be used on public holiday too. Just saw "Ready Player One" on Public Holiday( Good Friday) using it. (the Android app have a glitch that it will autoclose during masterpass payment if your MSOS code was sent to u and you need to jump out to Messaging to read the code, so a lot of people cannot complete payment with Masterpass) I just use my ipad to buy and read the code on my android phone and get the free pass biggrin.gif they will email you a bar code and you need to claim physically at the Boxoffice.

Talk about TGV-masterpass buy 1 free 1 (on next visit) promo, I just bought tickets via TGV Cinemas mobile app. According to their T&C, I will receive an email with an e-voucher code on the next day.

It's a bit technical to enjoy this promo, first I signup masterpass on laptop as there will be many typing ahead. In masterpass.com page, choose MY from the top panel bar, wait for auto-refresh, then proceed with signup. Filling up personal details and card info, enter OTP password for verification and done. (*the first time I signup on masterpass.com, I stuck at the "State" dropdown coz all options are US states doh.gif )

I proceed to buy tickets via TGV Cinemas app, for my case it is Android app on Xiaomi phone. Luckily the app is not closed when I received MSOS code, so I can switch between TGV Cinemas and Messaging app to complete the masterpass payment.

https://www.tgv.com.my/promotions/promos/masterpass-campaign

**Update: Received a FREE e-voucher from TGV, which can be used to redeem 2 movie tickets at TGV.
