how is the camera performance?
picture taking in night clear?
shutter speed?
*
On par if not better than the K800i under bright conditions. smile.gif

Taking pictures under low light conditions is not that good though.

i doubt there is theme for the phone
but u can choose to make one yourself
*
Mate, any themes for M600i / W950i can be used on the P1i without any problems.

Themes for the P990i, on the other hand might not work properly.

O/T: Quite a number of Atlantis fans here. tongue.gif

Yes, there are two that I know, Fring (www.fring.com) and iskoot (Sony Ericsson website)
*
I was just about to recommend Fring. Not bad IMO, and best of all it's a freeware! nod.gif

Me thinks you downloaded the wrong version of Microsoft Mobile Device Centre.

The correct version should be the 32bit version.

i found that when the phone is charged in off mode the screen is brighten up, is that normal?
*
It's the same in my set.

The screen lits up when it's charged switched off.

I guess it's a normal occurrence.

Nothing to worry about.

I usually charge it while it's on though.

hi all,

Just got my P1i AP set for RM1600 with 1g plus 512mb card.
Overall pretty good, cant really do a review on this cos this is my first PDA phone.

But I got one problem, I dont seem to be able to pull out my simcard from my P1i. does anyone face the same problem. help.
*
I too faced the same problem initially. Apparently it was my SIM card that caused the problem, as it has jutting edges which prevented a smooth exit from the SIM card slot.

I had to get the SC guys to remove the SIM card for me. Sigh. sweat.gif

wats the price for ori set p1i? i'm a user of P910i.... using for 3 years dy...
buy ori or ap better? bought my P910i ori for a price almost Rm3k....
*
I asked about a week ago, and it's still stable at RM 2,0xx.

But AP prices have dropped quite significantly. Sigh. Not good for Ori users.

But if you're a long term user, can consider an Ori set instead.

When creating a mms / attaching a pic, it will prompt you : "the pic size is too big, want to resize ? press yes or no..." something like that.
*
Mine doesn't prompt me to resize, it just says that the image's too large and the recipient might not be able to receive it.

Then I'll have to check with the SC if there's any newer firmware for Chinese enabled sets. smile.gif

Mine's R9H004 (Phone) and R6E30 (Organizer) at the moment.

To all sifus, any recommended apps for this phone?
*
Swiss Manager is a must to manage your phone's memory.

It's a freeware, hence you can try googling for it. smile.gif

QUOTE(lovehewit @ Nov 20 2007, 11:08 PM)
i have downloaded swiss pro, password key manager & ram up. But i find them useless. the phone's basic application is good enuff. maybe someone can point out the extra benefits of these apps?
*
Swiss Manager Pro in fact helps free up memory, and makes the phone overall faster.

But I do agree that the phone's pre-installed features are pretty good.

Though I would have wanted a better PIM app like Pocket Informant available on WM platform.

It's the other way round.

S60 has got way more 3rd party applications compared to UIQ 3.

1) certain application designed for finger operation (such as drag n scroll in opera) : yes.
    big icon menu : yes
small button chucked away in the corner : no

2) Symbian S series has more software support IMHO. But the UIQ3 apps i found so far is good enough for my organizing stuff. but somehow both Symbian UIQ and S still lag behind WM platform in terms of software IMHO.

3) i never tested the 8GB N95 before, but i suppose since it support Flash lite, i should be better than P1i especially when gonna randomly surfing at all kind of different hotspot.

4) yes if you have the chinese firmware. And even if you don't have, firmware flashing is available from some of the forumer for a reasonable price.
*
What do you mean by Symbian S series? S60 you meant?

hi, wanna ask a noob question

se p1 supports both symbian os 9.1 and uiq 3.1 software

so wats the difference between both os? one is touch screen based and the other is not?

thanks
*
P1i is running on Symbian OS v9.1 UIQ 3.1.

UIQ 3.1 is not an OS, its a variant of the Symbian OS.

And the latest seems to be v9.1, and it can be either S60 or UIQ 3.1.

*
S60 apps are meant for S60 phones.

UIQ 3 apps are meant for UIQ 3 phones.

They're not compatible with each other.

about the charging
recently i did a testing

i notice if u charge using the usb cable(without power line) even you reach 100% but the phone discharging rate is much higher, it only last me 1 day

but if i use power line to charge, i can use the phone for 3 days. Anyone experience this?
*
QUOTE(karlcheong @ Dec 7 2007, 09:57 AM)
Wah you can use the phone for 3 days ar! impressive  rclxms.gif

My phone last me for 2 days only, with wifi, bluetooth, 3G on, make calls, msg and some online.
*
You guys are lucky. I made a lot of calls everyday during working hours and my batt can barely last me till past 8pm.

Luckily I have an in-car charger. smile.gif
