QUOTE(n20nine @ Aug 28 2007, 12:58 AM) Are you sure? HTC Touch is more superior in the software site hands-down...But P1i has 3G and 3.2MP camera..thts the only thing..else Touch is way better... i think that is what he meant. just for certain hardware features only. and that is not including the processor. The Touch is simply better for one reason alone. That is the use of the Windows Mobile operating system, which is generations ahead of UIQ. This post has been edited by shockk: Aug 28 2007, 01:07 AM

QUOTE(Purpledotz @ Oct 2 2007, 06:28 PM) should i get this phone over a pda phone? I'm a communicator users for years (currently using 9500) and with the shortage of e90, i'm thinking of switching to something else. Thanks for advice isn't the P1i a PDA phone? the problem i have with Symbian UIQ 3.0 is the speed. even with a lot of RAM, the speed issue is still a problem. you will need to wait awhile before anything loads, even for editing your calendar entry! if you want flawless lightning fast speed, go for Windows Mobile or the e90. but for a phone, the P1i is good of course. still you have to ask yourself are you buying the phone for a phone or to use as a PDA? QUOTE(dantwt @ Oct 3 2007, 08:34 AM) weird. i thought symbian OS is faster than WM, if not on par with it. anyway do u guys agree that Symbian OS is more stable compared to WM? Symbian 60 OS yes. But definitely not Symbian UIQ (touchscreen version) which the P990i/M600i/W950i/P1i is using, sorry to say that. This post has been edited by shockk: Oct 3 2007, 08:58 AM

QUOTE(panasonic88 @ Oct 4 2007, 08:56 PM) P1i has double RAM memory and more shared memory definitely helps especially when you are multi-tasking with the phone yeah. but P990i has the awesome flip mode. converts the phone to become like a normal SE phone like K800i. priceless. other than that, the P1i trashes the P990i.

QUOTE(headhunter7 @ Nov 7 2007, 09:21 PM) Hey guys, how are your P1i 's? Good phone? I'm looking to use the organizer, tasks to the full extent. Will order the phone from Renee maybe..after I get the money. If organizers and tasks are your main functions, i SERIOUSLY suggest you to consider a Windows Mobile phone. The functionality of the Windows OS is far beyond what Symbian UIQ 3 can offer. I know because I'm a Symbian UIQ 3 and Windows Mobile user. This post has been edited by shockk: Nov 8 2007, 03:35 AM

QUOTE(bluegreen @ Nov 12 2007, 02:56 AM) fx_53_xt, thanks for your answer i just dont know whether to buy P1 now or wait for W960. P1 is so stylus-dependant, i heard, is it true? or is it finger-touch screen also? Nope it is not. You can use the jogdial and it works effectively as a d-pad too.

QUOTE(jenwai @ Dec 17 2007, 10:51 PM) Actually, I was thinking of getting this phone. Even when I compare these 2 phone I feel that P1i is much more better (in terms of function) that 6500 Slide. But, I'm a bit worry that I won't get used to it's OS (p1i) since I have been using Nokia's phone for few years (never try others). Any commend for me? 6500 Slide = Fast P1i = Slow 'nuff said.

Just want to ask P1i users. How long (how many seconds) does it take to load up 'Contacts'? I heard it is slow, but I want to know how slow. And if you leave 'Contacts' running in the background, it will load up instantly when you click it right? Thanks.

QUOTE(amplobs @ Jan 3 2008, 10:10 PM) my phone take bout 2-4 sec to load d contact 4 d first time but if it's running in the background, i think no lag at all for me but dunno bout others users ... Hey. Thanks for the information. That's all I wanted to know. This should be correct, as the same thing applies to my P990i as well.

QUOTE(j0ann3 @ Jan 5 2008, 11:48 AM) nope... getting it from a friend... wanted to get original at first cuz i dont really trust AP (no offence.. jus due to bad past experiences with AP repair companies).... but cuz this is thru my fren.. even if something is wrong with my fon.. at least someone will be doing something... thats why i dont mind getting the AP now... but jus worried about the cradle part... The cradle is part of the P1i standard package, if it doesn't come with it, it means you are getting cheated, unless of course you are getting it for way below AP market price. AP sets these days are getting better, with extended 15-18 months warranty and 1 year warranty on the LCD.
