4) i don use speed dial,  i have more than 9 people that i call frequently, so instead i make a folder in contact with all the frequently called number in it.

1. chikanot, whats your firmware? the date format problem is not on my p1i, my firmware is R9J005 - R6F41, although its a know bug 2 months ago.

2. when on SMP, load the application where you dont want to see the annoying icon, then highlight that apps and click info, the left most icon on the bottom, then check "hide icon over"

1)Mine too, everytime i change the theme, I have to reset everything from ringtone to time format. But I guess that's normal where this is how the SE phone is right? I remember my last last last model K700i is the same.
2)Till now, I still don't know what more SMP can do besides the task manager of the phone. Can someone please teach me how to use it? It's a display program in my phone at the moment, meaning, I don't know why I need to use it for the time being.
3)Same goes here, there's a blank everytime after i finished calling someone, and I need to press the BACK button to go back to desktop, is it normal?
4)I have name & pictures displayed when I do speed dial.

mine is the latest R6F41, yours is the second release (R6E30).
try sending back to service centre to re-flash the firmware if the problem still exist. some of those you mention especially keylock does not occur in all 3 P1i firmware i came across.

i have another problem here with handy clock. previously whenever i set an alarm to be rang weekly, it doesn't work properly and when it is the time it's suppose to be ringing, it's showing bunch of weird code. now that i master reset the phone and reinstall it, it does ring but still comes with the weird code. anyone encountered this?

When creating a mms / attaching a pic, it will prompt you : "the pic size is too big, want to resize ? press yes or no..." something like that.

Mine doesn't prompt me to resize, it just says that the image's too large and the recipient might not be able to receive it.

seem like the default WLAN setting/acc in my unit doesn't work, can connect to the network but cant surf...

anyone mind to share the basic setting with me?
