i think the uncertainty is due to the 'list of languages' available being based on the Region you select.

when you just bought a Switch and start it up it asks which region you are in:

1. The Americas
2. Europe
3. Australia/New Zealand
4. Japan

choosing say 'AUS/NZ' may not have Chinese (according to the official AU Nintendo site)

but you can choose any of the regions (mainly for the sake of which eShop you'll be visiting/purchasing titles etc)

[NOTE] I will check my Asia/MY retail unit to see what region/language is available. if you set to a region that has Chinese language in the list it should work the same on any hardware. will update this post...

[UPDATE] on the MY retail unit that i've region 'Americas' set .. the languages includes Chinese (traditional/simplified)

Hi, everyone. I need some help and advice as I am new to ND. I am getting a Nintendo Switch from Australia. Wonder that, what are the system languages that available for AU set? Have anyone have the same experience? I was hesitant to get from malaysia or AU.. However, due to boxing day, the nintendo switch in AU offering a sweet deal with cheaper price compared to MYR (a mario kart 8 deluxe dlc) + the console(enhanced battery vr).. I am getting this as a family console...I just hope that the AU set cover chinese as well. So far, the nintendo switch au official website do not mention about chinese as one of it system languages. I seeked help from my friends, she asked her friends who bought it at AU and it do show that chinese is part of the system languages. I went to ask the local retailer in AU, they can't seem to answer my questions somehow. Can someone help me with this...

ooo... JB-Hifi biggrin.gif brings back em' old memories ... kinda miss being able to browse and buy music albums in stores these days.

anyway, i'm not too sure what is considered leisure games but i'd assume something more casual fun for few players to enjoy together?

on top of my head, probably titles like:

Mario Kart Deluxe
Super Mario Party
Guns, Gore and Ganolies 1 and/or 2
Rocket League ??

and these 2 are special recommendation since you're in AU (they are made by devs in AUS)
- Golf Story
- Hollow Knight (be ready for a hard challenge)

QUOTE(luxy @ Dec 22 2019, 11:49 PM)
Thanks, buddy.
Updated on my prev post..
Just bought nintendo switch at JB-Hifi AU with $AU 419
After all, it do come with chinese somehow even thought the official website do not state them..
<a href='https://pictr.com/images/2019/12/22/5fRqFG.md.jpg' target='_blank'>https://pictr.com/images/2019/12/22/5fRqFG.md.jpg </a>
Next question, what are the recommended games to purchase?
I do plan to get just dance 2020 and overcooked 2..
Well, I heard about Zelda; however, I am getting this for my family, not sure my mom know how to operate it as it might be difficult for her.
Any leisure games would be preferred in this scenario..
Thanks. Cheers.

for the sake of simplicity and peace of mind it would be easiest to download/purchase DLC from appropriate region eShop matching the game's region.

but it is possible (some games at least) for DLCs to be "region-free". for example, Mario Rabbids (game cart let's say is EU region but it works with DLC from US eshop).

so far my way of determining if this is the case is to look at the section of the code printed under the art on the game cart. eg. for Mario Odyssey US version the full code is 'LA-H-AAACA-USA'. if you can find different region game cart (of same game) and they have this same code ('AAACA') ... then it's the same program/game (and DLCs are globally shared)

QUOTE(sixtydee123 @ Feb 10 2020, 05:27 PM)
Great! I understand if I were to purchase DLC pass I will need to purchase under AU region meaning create a separate acc with AU region selected right?

Also, any issues if I decide to sell the console/game
In the future here?

there is an option to transfer user and save data between Nintendo Switch systems (since version 4.x firmware i think)

just need to follow the steps and requirements to transfer accordingly (and of course both source and target Switch systems need to be at hand)

QUOTE(ace-user @ Apr 28 2020, 11:03 AM)
On a totally unrelated note, I have a switch lite now which I have ACNH on it, been playing for almost 150 hours. Now planning to get V2 switch but cloud save dont work on AC :/
Any tips or solutions to help ease the process of migrating my items to new island?

ok. sorry i didn't know AC New Horizons had this specific issue but it's kinda surprising if this is related to duplication as the system transfer option is suppose to move (vs copy) a profile completely from one system to another innocent.gif

thanks for the heads up

QUOTE(Rei7 @ Apr 28 2020, 01:21 PM)
Does not work for New Horizons. Nintendo developing a different solution for it for save backup and transfer in the future. Basically they don't want people duplicating items in game, but end up having duplication bug on release anyway lol

are you sure this will work when using the same microSD card that was used in the old Switch?

i mean ... wouldn't there be a issue of 'card already in use in another Switch' when u plug it into the new console?

QUOTE(Zeroxhunter @ May 6 2020, 05:36 PM)
Another way is if you used memory card, just transfer all games from stock memory to memory card and put on new switch. It will auto detect the game.

just to clarify, you mean that you bought 1 digital copy under your primary console (Nintendo account) and the wife is using the second console as non-primary (same Nintendo account) ?

if you were able to start with 2 different islands using this scenario... then i guess the main deterrent (if exist) would be the ability to stary/play the game simultaneously.

CODE
i believe the "workaround" you're looking for goes like this :-

Primary Switch: Have your friend or family member who does not own the game on their account sign in and start up the game on the primary Switch. It’s important that they use their own, separate Nintendo account. That account will also need Nintendo Switch Online for any online multiplayer mode.
Secondary Switch: You should sign into your game-owning account on the secondary Switch. You will need an online connection. You’ll also need Nintendo Switch Online if the game is online multiplayer.

With this method, two people can load up the same game on two systems and play together in online cooperative modes. Or you can each load up two different games from the main game-owning account.

notice that the "workaround" is counter-intuitive sweat.gif

We using 2 switch. 1 is mine and another is my wife. Have already play for awhile. Just not sure is it if I subscribe the Nintendo Online Family, can my wife visit her friend online, since her game is shared from my account.

that is because the 'digital' game versions are tied to a specific console (not just your Nintendo ID).

the region setting is based on your Nintendo account though - which you can only set 1 at any one time. you may want to search/read about things to note related to 'switching regions'.

QUOTE(Barricade @ Jun 21 2021, 08:05 PM)
LOL. I guess cannot. I created a Nintendo account and they ask me to login using the eShop from Switch. rclxub.gif

How often do we have this kind of sale? Is this a monthly thing?

And I will need to create a account using USA region in order to buy those discounted games right?

found a topic about the 'Google G Story 15.6 monitor' on reddit. seems like similar product/feature with the reviewed monitor.

apparently the setup used will only be 720p (not docked mode but 'direct project from console to larger screen')

QUOTE(ben3003 @ Jul 8 2021, 05:35 PM)
I tot that wont work, switch need dock to be in docking mode. The usb to hdmi adapter can work? Cos in dock mode switch will draw more power

never owned a Switch Lite but looking at its design and focus on portable mode…

I would guess it’s not surprising for multi player that it only supports multiple external joycon or pro controller mix only.

It would be quite difficult for multiple people to watch the screen when someone is holding and moving the console no?

QUOTE(Zeliard @ Mar 23 2024, 06:13 PM)
Hi. Would like to know, if it's possible to co-op a switch lite using an additional wireless controller as player 2, with player 1 on the switch itself?
I think I was misinformed by the shop, stating that it can. But no matter how I try, the configuration always register the wireless controller as player 1.

my guess is that the family group you are joining has had a number of people leaving and joining till it passed a certain threshold (set by Nintendo)

perhaps get the admin of the family group to talk to Nintendo support to “reset” the status … or join another group which u made sure is new and/or made up of more fixed members

hope that works out

Hi guy, I tried to join other ppl Nintedo family but it show "You cannot join this family group. Your ability to join a family group has been restricted due to frequently joining and leaving family groups.". May I know why this happened and how to lift the restrict?

to purchase games digitally on Switch you need to setup a Nintendo account and use/associate that account to your console. Nintendo accounts are free to create/register.

You can associate different regions to your Nintendo account (only one region at a time). Unfortunately the MY region don’t have eShop so users here usually set their region to (for example) US

different region eShop may have different prices, discount/offers and charges in different currencies

You can get prepaid Nintendo reload credits or use credit card or like me I use TNG Visa

Physical games can get from game shop either in their shop or online store or used from other gamers

By the way, do take note Switch 2 is launching this year and the console is backwards compatible to most Switch software (official statement)

Hi guys,

I'm in consideration after trying out the Switch at Toys'R Us and wanted to know how Switch games can be purchased here in Malaysia, either in digital copy or physical only?
