Guys, need advise, why Maxis 4G can play Mario Kart 8, Streamyx 4MB unable to play with error "The other console is not responding, please try again later"?

Please see attachment:

[attachmentid=8910979]
Maxis 4G
[attachmentid=8910980]
Streamyx 4MB

you either need to forward all UDP ports on ur network switch to your nintendo switch
OR
set your switch as DMZ

but those two official advise is crappy, which is why i stick to tethering my mobile connection

no i wasnt kidding
http://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/ap...-switch-console

and yes, this stop the possibility of having 2 nintendo switches (or more), to play online together (local multiplayer can, but not connect to internet play TOGETHER)

that's because TM has started to assign private IP to customers (instead of the global IP previously).  this started a couple years back.

DMZ, port forwarding will NOT work. only way is to not use streamyx or if you could somehow get them to revert back to assign global IP for you.

P/S:  go to your streamyx modem/router admin page to see the WAN IP.  chances are it starts with 10.x.x.x
*
oh ya, that too
I thought only maxis/astro iptv assigns private ip (but can request a public ip if you call in to request)

It is private as you mentioned ....
[attachmentid=8915330]

How annoying ... i doubt TM would even bother to change for me ....
Gonna try still ...

just tell them u need it for online gaming, apparently this is a rather valid reason

Is RM1888 for the switch+BOTW+Just Dance a good buy?
*
yes, considering a lot of us bought at 2099 with console + 2 games + 3 useless amiibos (but they are cutezzzz) (+ rm100 cash voucher which i only used like 2-3 pieces)

Hi guys, new Switch user here.

So far I'm having a great time with Mario Kart. However my switch cannot connect to others online for online multiplayer... Keep getting error... But can enter eshop...

Anyon experiencing similar issue?
*
do you have a computer that connect to the same network?
can you check what is the ip assigned to your router?
what telco are you on?

fiber broadband services from maxis assigns private ip only for their users
so you cannot get on online multiplayer

but if that is not the case, if you are assigned a public ip
then you need to do this
https://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/ap...lh2TzV3JTIxJTIx

but it is... not a good way to set up a network
so.. in the end I connect to online multiplayer by tethering to my mobile phone

Yeah but people get it a bit early.

Also the voice app doesn't look so bad. Just tried it by creating a room on online lounge mode. When you create a room, you'll receive a notification on the phone and it redirects you to it, and you can just voice chat there with your phone mic.

Since the app and voice chat is only for friends purpose only and can't be used publicly, seems ok. App seems more intended to be used with your smartphone built-in mic rather than external mics lol. Pitty those who wants to use headphones and some external mic, definitely troublesome and tideous rofl.

Also the bad things about the app is that the phone needs to be on at all times as well when using the app. Can't be put into stand-by to save battery or you'll be disconnected to the voice chat.

so another thing to charge

How to get this app on the phone? I search at the Apple Store don't have? Thanks

Nintendo does not enable it for our region, for Android we need to sideload it, not sure about iOS devices

First online session wasn't bad at all. Got around 8 people joining. Most were using mic as well. Our complains are we can't add others as friends without traditionally telling the friends code via voice chat lol and also it's just friends, can't play with anyone else on the internet.

*snip*
*
i remember you can find ppl you online played with in one of the settings page

bad?  it is good for all of us using it here
except the local price part

you definitely should get one, once you used it you wouldn't wanna use back the joycon again
*
I don't really play on a big screen that much, just thought it would be useful lol
(even if i do, unless i need the motion sensor thing, otherwise when i play zelda i hold my joycons on the sides lol)
i already have 2 sets of joycon (mainly for arms)

confused.gif pro controller also got motion sensor bah?
I fine tune my aim using the motion sensor in Zelda using my pro controller
*
lol i mean i would play with my joycon one in each hand,
and then place my hand at the sides when i play
(instead of sliding them to the joycon holder)
lifting them for shooting arrows (zelda) only when needed
(man i hate those shrines needing those motion sensor to work)
