QUOTE(AskarPerang @ Apr 22 2017, 04:56 PM) really depends on your 4 hours is from what time until what time? I'm planning to start part time driving, generally available for 6-7 hours a day. I run a business but I manage to make it autopilot for now. What's the best time to drive, any suggestion?

QUOTE(coolstore @ Apr 21 2017, 12:33 PM) u go test sit, then u would know yes amble space for luggage, but then rider backache travelling to airport, later give u bad rating there are a plenty bezza as grab/uber now, exterior feel more luxury compare to myvi/axia... did test it already for almost 30min, both me n wife are ok with it.. until got backache i cannot imagine how? yes its kinda almost 90 degree, but no problem for me.. i think what's more important is driver attitude.. u need to be polite and welcome your rider comfortably.. other things like tidiness, cleanliness and with fresh fragrance are extra bonus for rider..

QUOTE(jocelyn617 @ May 20 2017, 02:23 PM) Considering the petrol price in Malaysia, can drivers still be able to cover the costs and earn from the rides? Have a look at my other post with relation to cost. https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/4274141Don't feel it is worth driving on part-time basis while have to buy a car for the sole purpose of driving for uber/grab. Calculation based on fuel priced at RM2.24, price at that time.

the concept is to use your own car... if you got to buy a car for it, then its not as worth as it intended to.. QUOTE(jocelyn617 @ May 20 2017, 02:23 PM) Considering the petrol price in Malaysia, can drivers still be able to cover the costs and earn from the rides? kek

Thanks Effy92 for your compliments. Was trying to prove that a little car like Axia can be a Goliath even.
To leftback, let me tell you something. If you are doing Grab long enough, you will feel that boot space , yes, is an importance, but not top priority. You are unlikely to get Klia trips every single day (if you do, i salute you).
Im doing grab full time btw. I was in your shoes when deciding either a Saga, or Bezza 1.0l. But finally i settled down with Axia. Never regretted.
The Axia is a perfect choice for Grab operations. What more with the bare bone E spec. Even i myself dont recommend myvi. Super fuel efficient yet sufficient boot space for any KLIA trips. Forget myvi. The boot space is a joke. With or without the shelf. 1 full tank, 25-26litres of fuel, based on manual tranny (im using e spec) can get 410-420km, mixed driving. (Its like they say : Real men uses 3 pedals, lol)
That work outs like 17.x km per litre. You cant get that on a Myvi what more the guzzling auto version. Maybe the manual version can come close. But axia still wins fc.
I wont quote how many cents per km or how much per full tank cause you know la, our crazy govt. changes prices every week.
I think Proton is also equally reliable; just take a look at how many taxis are Proton (yes i know its compulsory for them). Yes i understand Cvt reliability will be a concern, but i can tell you, i have 2 other cvt-based cars in my family, with the Honda having 100k plus mileage, is still running well.
So the choice is yours, either the saga or the Axia. Forget the myvi. But as for me, I'm loving my Axia. Not because i anti Proton.

QUOTE(leftback @ Apr 12 2017, 07:06 PM) Thinking of doing Uber / Grab on a part-time basis. However need a newer car, so which one should I choose? I've narrowed down my search to the following 3 cars: 1. Proton Saga. The reason, cheapest and largest booth space among the 3, large boot space and airport trips should not be a problem. Concerns, maintenance cost and reliability concerns over the CVT gearbox. Brakes are not very good. 2. Axia. Cheap operating cost and maintenance. Concerns, Small boot space, might be a concern for airport trips. 3. Myvi. Cheap operating cost and maintenance. Concerns, Small boot space, might be a concern for airport trips, cost the most among the three. Thanks for your input. Myvi
