luckily i didnt call back...

saw on FB that someone mentioning that they are trying to get u to call back and your phone will get charged a lot as its the international call..

I thought we shouldn't answer overseas call?

I got the same sh*t. From Maldives also. Didn't manage to pick up cause it rang 2 seconds only. Wonder what's this. Many people got it today.

i also got la TS, apparently my old fren from Maldives call me to borrow my account since his dad is sick and got billion of cash nowhere to gip.

A lady was on the line and said,

"Hi. I just want to say I have been missing you so much."

And the phone line disconnected.

If you get missed calls from unknown foreign numbers, please DONT CALL BACK.

It's called the "One Ring Scam". The scammer will buy an international premium rate number that charges the caller when you call in. One call might cost you a few hundreds or thousands.

The Telcos and MCMC won't give your money back, because you made the call and the scammers did not actually do anything illegal.

Please inform your parents and older relatives about this too, as recently there is an increase of calls from number from countries like Maldives and Pakistan.
