Never had any problem with GPS. On both 8.2.5 and 8.2.10. What apps are you using? Google Map or Waze?

Installed and working fine. No adverse result.

Important to note that it comes with the latest security update.

frankly, i have setup 2 Redmi Note 3, 1 Redmi Note 4(MTK version), 1 Redmi Note 4 (SD version) within the last 3 months. All were without problem with GPS. All are working perfectly.

It is better to send it for warranty claim, and share with us your claim experience.

you may want to disable the battery optimisation in the setting for the music / podcast apps. See if that is the root cause.

If you have Facebook installed, maybe can try to remove that first.

sorry. i don't understand what is bad about battery life on your phone. You need to make a full charge of your phone to 100% and use it until <20%. Then post the battery stat and we can assist. Don't charge the phone during this period.

if after trying with different USB cable, and charger, the only way is to try to claim warranty. Connection issue maybe hardware related.

Looks like drainage is high because screen is not on.

Maybe let it drain until <20% and check back on total battery usage trend.

Note 4x (snapdragon variant) : better battery endurance , more rom development possibilities.

Note 4/4X (mediatek variant): better performance. Battery endurance still good, but not as good as snapdragon variant.

The 4/4X naming is super confusing. Just watch for the processor use.

The case you mentioned does have cutout for both IR and mic. It is a very good case. Do go ahead and you should not regret

China ROM for initial release. Global ROM needs to wait.

You can download new mp3 cutter app from other Chinese app developer. Then recut your music. Should work again.
