I believe split and multiple are 2 different things. Split is if you have the same invoice and break it into components (several part payments). Multiple is where you swipe one after the other, each with a different invoice. This is based on my experience and past clarification with CS.
If you read this compared with HSBC terms (off memory), HSBC specifically says disqualify split transactions AND multiple swipes at same merchant (typically more than 2 or 3). This implies that split and multiple are different things.
In all PBB past promos I have done multiple swipe strategy and always got cashback.

I Googled it, and I believe the way a split transaction is processed at the terminal is different from a multiple payment. Based on my cursory reading, the split payment function will reconcile to one sale, while multiple is self explanatory.
I'm not a tech person but there should be a way of tracking.

Haven't been online all day as was too busy shopping (and collecting my 8x swipes the "traditional" way) and was amused by the thread developments. Just some observations of (very) frequently asked and answered questions. Based on previous experience reported from past promos:
1. Utilities restriction refers to TNB and Water (e.g. IWK and Syabas). Telcos (e.g. Maxis, Digi, Astro, Unifi) have previously been eligible for cashback. Even based on Week 1 reports, these seems "safe".
2. Split vs Multiple swipes are different concepts. Split is disallowed, Multiple has been allowed in the past (based on MY experience). Based on Week 1 reports (including my 8x consecutive Amazon gift card purchases all within 5 minutes), multiple also seems "safe". The only risk here is that multiple MAY trigger a card block (it didn't for me) and you will get annoying "multiple transaction" alert SMS.
Note - My comments on Split vs Multiple are based solely on experience and NOT the TnC, as "Split" is not defined and there is no exclusion on "Multiple" (therefore, you CANNOT rely on the TNC to complain if you do not get your CB... and there really is no point writing to BNM). As I've said many times before, I have done multiple transactions (both online and in retail shops) and successfully received CB all these years in every promo. And I am also comparing the wording with HSBC's promos where they SPECIFICALLY say things like "Split and Multiple transactions of more than XX times per day will be disqualified", thus implying that Split and Multiple are 2 different things. You can Google all this if you want a technical explanation of what a "Split" transaction is.....
At the end of the day, we cannot GUARANTEE that cashback will be paid out, as all this is sharing based on individual users' experiences. Each of us take the risk, and if successful, we benefit from the reward. Therefore, anyone who is too scared or paranoid to test out themselves (or believe the reports) really shouldn't complain if they lose out on cashback. That's just my 2 cents.

A few transactions on the same day not considered as duplicated transactions?
