Hi there. I found some minor prob. duno how to solve it. Hope u guys can help.

Below is screenshot of 2 different theme. 1 is vistaVG and another is vista perfection. both i obtain from front thread.




Well, basically i prefer vistaVG because of the orb shape at start menu, the font.

but then for the perfection, i prefer its side there. coz beside the folder got task, detail and other places thing. but then its orb at start enu look weord and the fonts too.

is there anyways to make some adjustment?

juz follow the front page

1-Install the vista icon..but i deselect logon screen, boot screen and also cursor..

2-Install XP Vista Pack for your sound scheme and also cursor..

3-Install sidebar..here it's quite a long steps..
-no need to be redundant..juz follow the front page..if problem.. u can ask
J-SLADE(not J-BLADE.. ) or me...

4-Then i install windows blind 5.5 (bug fixed, YM dun have problem,100% compatible)
-then get the aeroglass theme...then have fun with ur new windows looks..

5-for extra finishing...u can download topdesk..also get it from front..

p/s: need patient to do this...heheh...

is there any way to revert back to the original windows xp?

just uninstall everything la... my PC once using this kind of mod... just delete all the program (carefully... ) and everything backs to normal.

Yeap, you have got the steps correct. I just wanna update everyone here to let you guys know I am still very enthusiastic about the Vista skinning. Anyway I wanna update you guys on my current desktop because a few days ago I reformated my pc.

My steps follow oyama here except that I did the sidebar first then only Vista Icon Pack and XP Vista Pack. I had a problem with my gadgets at 1st, but in the end I found out that installing Internet Explorer 7 properly solved the problem.

Anyway if you noticed my ms style is not using the Vista Orb but more like a black luna theme right? I personally think this style goes best for me. I really like the theme a lot. If you wanna give it a try, here it is.

u mean XP OS using vista theme? yes i think...just theme rite? btw vista pack, sidebar or windows blind..they got much memory consumption ? if yes i couldnt dl lor.. my comp's already slow

erm if there anyway to skip the pop up of that "about vistart"? Mean let it start with window but i no nid to press ok but it auto shown in such way.

It ll slow down ur OS after install all of this.Please standby 100MB of ram t do all of this. If u don't have enough of ram I advise you dont install.

just change the shellstyle file with the one u like.

i follow the guide for sidebar (advance) .. i realized my idle cpu usage will keep changing from 2-20%.. is that normal?

yup..windows XP can use Vista theme...take look at 1st page..u'll see J-SLADE effort to teach us this~

the memory comsumption quite a lot, and it depend on wat vista theme u apply..
if u apply vista theme from windows blind..it will consume more than normal ms style..
and windows blind need to start when windows boot..side bar also need to be start at the boot..so guess if ur computer already slow..it's quite bored to wait the windows to start..


p/s: for those using 1gb RAM, if u really want to do this.. it's ok...
but for those using 256 mbRAM...not suggested..for those using 512 RAM..

juz few comments, i did uninstall vista icon pack and windows blind... it's ok for windows blind..it's will revert back to ur normal ms styles...

but i counter few problem when i uninstall the vista icon pack...1st, let me tell you..
vista icon pack does backup ur original XP setting..and when uninstall it should back up all ur original setting..i notice dat it does not backup the log on screen...
til i have to copy the log on screen ".exe" from my fren computer then paste it on my lappie..then ok...

icon also have the same...few icon were missing..such as my computer original icon..
mpeg icon..n i dun figure out yet how to solve it.

for now i still use vista icon pack..coz the icon is reallllllllyyyyyyyyyyyyyy...nice!!!
hahha..juz i deselect logon screen and also bootup screen when install it...
