Only HG8240W? What is the wireless router?

Most of us were given TPlink ARCHER C1200 router n Huawei HG8240w modem.

I thought the HG8240w is the wireless router?

Weird, let me go back and see, i got 2, one i think is BTU and another one is the huawei

Just checked, i have one residential gateway model RGX4400 and huawei HG8240w

Finally my area launched unifi. Registered on system today and got the SMS from TM about installation on 20th May. How come it takes so long ya? I thought can be done 48 hours.

maybe the re-arrange  port like my problem.. me 25  may .. more longer then you

Not really sure for your side. My side I only do registration with thumbprint.

Unifi areas also a lot of breakdowns. TM is also busy with buildup of bandwidth and upgrading existing unifi customers and delay is already reported. Streamyx may be more stable than Unifi in the next few months.

Yeah, my new house in a new taman has unifi FWS pre-installed by developer even before CFO. And it was 2014. All cabling done underground beside the house foundation. 

LAN cable to every room? No, have to do ownself. No lan cable provided, just the fiber optic pre-installed till the living room. So next time when subscribing to Unifi they just come and install BTU/ AP thats all. No need dirty drilling and cabling stuff. Just like most house nowadays also come with alarm wiring pre-installed.

I am guessing, I am not working for TM or TM's agent. This is what I observed at Unifi Advance marketing campaign. Why standard Unifi 30 at RM199 then they promoted at RM179 (bcoz secretly Voice RM20 is not included)? Haha if they really want to convert Streamyx 1/2/4/8 users to Unifi Lite, they may use the same marketing strategy again. For 1 month free subscription, you can already get this incentive at TM's website for Streamyx and Unifi 30/50/100, but not extended to Unifi Lite yet!

Free upgrade to 50Mbps is for those existing customers subscribed before 28/2/2017. A lot of existing Streamyx/Unifi customers get discounts (RM10/RM20/...) from TM, especially beyond contract period. So they are buying VIP5(being converted to Unifi Lite) at RM129/139, Adv30/50 at RM169 etc. We should expect another revision (price and speed) in 2019.

Thats what I want to know too. Some agents say possible some say not. Anyone who did this before?

this why i think if  my whatever 25 may complete i will take either 179 if existed..  because  setup box not shared bandwidth.. thinking thinking.

I postpone the installation till i am available at home haha. I actually laid all the duct already for the fiber cable when I did my whole house LAN wiring. So on the day itself i will just go up the attic and help put the fiber cable in the duct and wire it to one of the room. Then they will continue from there. Should be an easy 5 mins job and save me all chargeable fee for over ceiling installation. 

Yup haha, actually did all the rj45 cat6 + 5e cabling + faceplate myself also so nt sure whether still need their free cable. When they install they can just put the fiber together with the ethernet cables in the white casing. Save them a lot of time.

BTW, has anyone done their installation (fiber, not VDSL)? Wanna ask whether u are provided with the Fiber Termination Box (FTB) outside the house? I heard that some of the installer no longer provide FTB anymore? They just pull the fiber cable directly into the house from the pole and to the BTU?
