QUOTE(ClarenceT @ May 11 2017, 10:15 AM) Unifi areas also a lot of breakdowns. TM is also busy with buildup of bandwidth and upgrading existing unifi customers and delay is already reported. Streamyx may be more stable than Unifi in the next few months. I beg to differ, I think fiber is more stable than copper, and the voice call is much better. |

QUOTE(y561994 @ May 11 2017, 12:19 PM) LAN cable to every room? No, have to do ownself. No lan cable provided, just the fiber optic pre-installed till the living room. So next time when subscribing to Unifi they just come and install BTU/ AP thats all. No need dirty drilling and cabling stuff. Just like most house nowadays also come with alarm wiring pre-installed. Talking abt alarm wirings, better to protect them from lightning if possible. 5 out of 6 lines of my concealed alarm wires were damaged by lightning 2 years ago. |

QUOTE(ClarenceT @ May 11 2017, 02:57 PM) I am guessing, I am not working for TM or TM's agent. This is what I observed at Unifi Advance marketing campaign. Why standard Unifi 30 at RM199 then they promoted at RM179 (bcoz secretly Voice RM20 is not included)? Haha if they really want to convert Streamyx 1/2/4/8 users to Unifi Lite, they may use the same marketing strategy again. For 1 month free subscription, you can already get this incentive at TM's website for Streamyx and Unifi 30/50/100, but not extended to Unifi Lite yet! Are u saying at the std price of RM199 for Unifi Advance30, free voice call is included? What abt free upgrade to 50Mbps? |

QUOTE(ClarenceT @ May 11 2017, 03:22 PM) Free upgrade to 50Mbps is for those existing customers subscribed before 28/2/2017. A lot of existing Streamyx/Unifi customers get discounts (RM10/RM20/...) from TM, especially beyond contract period. So they are buying VIP5(being converted to Unifi Lite) at RM129/139, Adv30/50 at RM169 etc. We should expect another revision (price and speed) in 2019. what abt this: "Are u saying at the std price of RM199 for Unifi Advance30, free voice call is included?" |

The Unifi Lite will come with a new phone number (can't replace with old number). When u cancel Streamyx, tell TM u want to retain the old number by paying rm1 rental, but then all calls made from this old number will be chargeable, so use it to receive call only.

QUOTE(y561994 @ May 17 2017, 12:27 PM) QUOTE(y561994 @ May 17 2017, 12:34 PM) I postpone the installation till i am available at home haha. I actually laid all the duct already for the fiber cable when I did my whole house LAN wiring. So on the day itself i will just go up the attic and help put the fiber cable in the duct and wire it to one of the room. Then they will continue from there. Should be an easy 5 mins job and save me all chargeable fee for over ceiling installation. Well plan ahead. |

QUOTE(y561994 @ May 17 2017, 04:50 PM) Yup haha, actually did all the rj45 cat6 + 5e cabling + faceplate myself also so nt sure whether still need their free cable. When they install they can just put the fiber together with the ethernet cables in the white casing. Save them a lot of time. My Unifi Lite installation done last week without the FTB. Black-color Fiber pulled from pole to outside wall where they coiled the fiber for a few rounds(claimed for spare, SOP, but ugly), drilled a hole and on the otherside of the hole the fiber ended on the Fiber Wall socket(FWS), then from FWS a white-color softer fiber is pulled n connected to the BTU.BTW, has anyone done their installation (fiber, not VDSL)? Wanna ask whether u are provided with the Fiber Termination Box (FTB) outside the house? I heard that some of the installer no longer provide FTB anymore? They just pull the fiber cable directly into the house from the pole and to the BTU? |
