Take your kitchen as example.
From the general structure, you can start to go inro details.
What's the color theme, you like wood feeling or your like white color or you like stainless steel kind of roughed feeling?
What worktop you want? Cement tile is enough?laminate? Solid surface? Quartz surface?
Cabinet what you like? Solid wood? Laminate (fake print wood pattern)? Aryclic? Or veneer?
You want handler or hiding handle?
Basin single basin or double? Counter top or counter bottom?
Do you need wall.cabinet?

More important is the system. Sit in your current kitchen.
Open every single drawers to see what you have, how you need it, where you would like them to be... You know your cooking habit better... Then it would be your very personkitchen.

Worktop I suggest Solid Surface or if budget allow, go for quartz.
Cabinet I suggest veneer. Cheaper and easier maintain then Solid Wood. And it have a solid wood features or beautiful aging... Veneer is a few mm real wood at the surface, so it touch and feel like real wood. Meanwhile it aging  like a real wood. Your cabinet look nicer 10 years later like your other solid wood furniture. Lamination too fake...

Also advisable not to use chemical wood. Whatever surface you're choosing, you try not to use chemical wood as body.

i am buyer for phase 2. so still in progress of 2©..so can't comment on workmanship..
