Lately my friend ask why i choose small camera instead of good camera.
Then i tot of this topic.

P/S : not to compare between brands ya .. just to share story and view jerr .. thumbup.gif

Brand : Sony
Model : NEX3
Reason : start to learn photograph, first tot of easy carry and able to change lens. But there are limited lens available, so have tried classic lens (M42) too

Brand : Canon
Model : 70D
Reason : because of friend around mostly are Canon guys. So get myself a 70D + 50mm 1.8 + 10-18mm F4.5-5.6. Found that the camera body is too big to me and sometime even lazy to take the camera out when traveling.

Brand : Sony
Model : A7
Reason : got is 2nd hand at kldslr with kit lens. Size is just nice and enjoy during my taiwan travel lately. Soon i realize i just want an easy carry and interchangeable lens is not important to me anymore.

Brand : Sony
Model : RX100 IV
Reason : just got it last few weeks. Good to go and so far so good.

Canon 400D is my first DSLR.
Reason : canon kits lens with plastic mount and focusing not accurate with low ISO for night time.
Lens : 18-55 & 50 1.8 with EF 70-300mm USM.
After that sold off and jump into Nikon family.

Nikon D300 is my first high end DX body.
Sold off due to reason :
Low ISO for 1600 only, if not wrong.
Lens : Sigma 18-50 f2.8 & 17-50 f2.8 VC with AFD 60mm f2.8, 50 1.4D & AFS 105mm f2.8G micro.
Tokina 20-35mm AFD, Tamron 17-35mm f2.8-4D.
Speedlight SB-900.

Nikon D700 is my 1st FF body
Sold off due to reason :
can't afford those big 3 lens : 14-24, 24-70 and 70-200.

Nikon D7000 for downgraded.
Cause can afford more FX lense in the 1st place.
My lense : AF24-70mm f2.8G, AFD 60mm f2.8 & AFD 135mm f2 DC, AFS 50mm f1.4G also AFD 85mm 1.8, 35mm 1.8 DX & 40mm 2.8G micro DX.

Nikon D800 for my 2nd bigger body of FX.
That's was extremely sharp image quality and then buy another D600 for backup body, and sold off due hardly used and stop for almost 3 years.
Actually the Nikon AFS 28mm f1.8G & 50mm f1.8G with 60mm f2.8G micro, also D70 kits lens 28-70mm f3.5-4.5G is the most best lenses, so far in my experienced.
Speedlight SB-910.

Since last year, I'm back from photography.
For my trip and bought Nikon D7200 with some lens AFS 16-85mm f3.5-5.6G VR with 24mm f1.8G until this year March 17.

Brand : Sony
Model : A7ii
Reason : changed for my shooting style with mirrorless DSLR, also Lightweight with easier got carried all the ways.
The attracted were Zeiss lens laugh.gif

My last part for my Panasonic LX3 still working now.
This is my very best DC in my passed

Good idea TS smile.gif my turn...

Brand: Panasonic
Model: Lumix LX3
Reason: Starting to learn photography. Later on felt limited cuz bokeh not nice

Brand: Nikon
Model: D40
Reason: 1st DSLR...bought 2nd hand with 35mm f/1.8G. still remember when I received the package...the nikon strap was super smelly LOL. threw it away immediately n bought a crumpler strap. fell in love with bokeh~

Brand: Nikon
Model: D90
Reason: Got more serious into photography and starting to get paid jobs. Also around this time I got my flash and 15mm and 85mm lenses. Good times!

Brand: Fuji
Model: X100
Reason: Change of job means I dont get to shoot much anymore. Mostly using a camera for travel. Got tired of bringing my DSLR, so I wanted a great APS-C compact. Long story short, I love the pics, but my tolerance for the slow AF ran out. Also quite annoyed how the exposure compensation dial turns too easily

Brand: Sony
Model: A6000
Reason: Pretty much solves the AF problem (by far!). 1st time enjoying wifi transfers, can quickly share photos on whatsapp and FB hehe! The 24mm Zeiss would be the perfect way to replace the fuji, but too expensive. However im happy with the Sigma 30/1.4. Really enjoy this compact system + possibility to expand. Now funding for 85/1.8 and the 10-18, returning to my D90 setup hehe

Brand : Olympus
Model : Mju 700, a point and shoot (2006)
Reason : started to want to take photo for memory sake

Brand : Nikon
Model : D5000
Reason : No money to buy, so it was a loan unit from friend for a few months. Started to get very interested in DSLR. Know nothing much about lens yet.

Brand : Nikon
Model : D7000
Reason : Same friend who loan me the D5000 took it back but swap this D7k. Came with Tamron 17-50 f2.8. First time to play with a F2.8 zoom and prime lens 50mm f1.8D. My friend took it back after his main weapon (D4) went for service. cry.gif

Brand : Olympus
Model : E-300
Reason : Work for my other friend for 2 hours and it was a "wages" for the work I did for him. Came with 2 kit lens. Not a bad deal for a 2 hours work pay. ISO very bad, only usable up to 800. Very very noisy at 1600. Wanted to get a flash for indoor use, but before I could afford one, the camera body stolen.

Brand : Fujifilm
Model : X100s
Reason : Another loan unit. It was to swap the D7k. Had it for few months. Like the fuji OOC jpeg. 23mm f2.0 fixed lens is very sharp, but bokeh quality so so....can be very distracting and cannot change lens has been very frustrating at time. AF quite slow especially indoor use. Good thing wasn't my own. Returned to owner after I acquired my own a6000

Brand : Sony
Model : a6000 (current)
Reason : Bought with my own sweat money. Best bang for buck, small size, 11fps, crazy amount of focus point.

yeah a lot of ppl saying fuji colours are better..i dont really get it as well TBH haha

but since fuji X system only covers APS-C, they do have the size advantage when it comes to their lenses. the price tho... cry.gif

there are tons of lightroom tutorials on youtube bro. until now I still think lightroom is one of the most well-designed UX around because there's a lot of features but still relatively easy to learn. photoshop is the one with the steep learning curve.

mostly i get the lightroom tutorial from fb page / youtube.
about color adjust (brightness, contrast, etc) .. i found quite subjective to person.
some may prefer sharper and higher contrast while i prefer softer .. more like japanese style photo (dono what it called) sweat.gif

For SOOC, it seems that the fuji processing of JPG colour really more pleasing at least to my eye compared to nikon (5000 and 7000) and sony (a6000). I like canon (60d) colour as well. But then again, I supposed if you shoot raw, the advantage of fuji would be minimized.

Yeah, I agreed, I do have a good friend in photography. For a few years (while I can't afford the camera), in my heart, I've committed to Nikon system and thinking that DSLR is the way to go for me, till he lent to me his D7K and helped me realized, I need a mirrorless instead. nod.gif

Yeah, why you go backward? After I've tasted blood (fun of ILC), I can never go back to camera with a fixed lens (prime or zoom alike) rclxub.gif

ya, no doubt A7 is a very good camera (fullframe somemore). I have bring my A7 to italy, france, london and taiwan, but most of the time the A7 will sleep in my camera bag until the next travel journey (local / oversea).
i not taking photography job so extra lens may not necessary.

so, my mind tot "why not just get the smaller camera yet not sacrifice the image quality so much " .. then rx100m4 /rx100m5 / g7x II come in my mind.

fullframe sensor to 1" sensor. bruce.gif

then i realized " everything i want not everything i need " nod.gif

Brand : Canon
Model : Ixus 115
Reason : Just to take pictures

Brand : Olympus
Model : XZ-1
Reason : Started to learn the basics, familiarized with semi-auto modes

Brand : Samsung
Model : NX200
Reason : Demand for quality increased, moved up to APSC budget camera. Too bad Samsung killed the NX line.

Brand : Sony
Model : A6000
Reason : Value for money with plenty of features. Invested in a few lenses to cover most focal lengths and purpose.
