Hey guys, first time paying credit card via IBG. I made a payment last night, so technically the money should come it today 11am, correct? Just checked and my credit card still shows the same balance. How long does it take to update?
*
QUOTE(SzeMeng76 @ Sep 6 2017, 09:17 PM)
Have to wait, for my experience, UOB so slow to update the payment, even I always do Instant Transfer payment, also not update on spot. Need to 0.5-1 day.
*
it will take +1 day after the money is in to be viewable on the transaction details. it is usually the case for most banks.

BUT credit limit available usually will be reflected once the money is in. again, it applies to most banks.

QUOTE(gastacopz @ Sep 6 2017, 09:54 PM)
guys, if last month transaction...but refund this month..

how the rebate calculate?

minus from this month expenses?
*
i thought it does but... it got a bit confusing... my transaction in may was refunded in july. so, my transactions in july minus the refund is about 500+... based on my calculation, supposed to get RM19, but i got RM20 instead.

RM19 is assuming i minus off the rebate of the refund (means assuming uob 'claw back' my rebate). but i got more than i expected. so that's my only sample so far.

UOB oversea currency exchange rate is sky high among the card I had...
around 3-6%
same for online transaction in foreign currency...
6% rebate might not enough to cover ...
*
You have to show calculation. It's about 2.5% when I used Yolo. Else, everything is hearsay from yourself.

i just called cs to terminate my Yolo and request to transfer the cashback(RM50) to savings account(Maybank).
i was told that, i will not get full as they will use IBG(-RM0.11).
So, total i will get is RM49.89.
Can they do so?

Thanks.
*
my opinion. yes.

if you disagree, my advice is dont OCD about the 11 cents.

while i don't think it's in the t&c, they probably have a right not to transfer it to your CASA. and that means you probably have to spend it to 'earn' it.

It was there in the old portal. So easy to use, never overpaid. With the new portal, I often make the mistake by paying twice sometimes or leaving out one or two cards in the new one.
*
this is not about the "portal" but rather how uob system works. Also it's not something you can "see" or "choose" unless as mentioned by some here, call in and ask.

For your case, the annual fee is charged on your statement date, or the first few day of Calendar month (November in your case)?

Thank you for your information, adele123.
*
1st nov. But my anniversary is oct. Received it end of oct last year. But my statement date is not 1st.

Did you swipe every month? Then maybe you got the auto waiver. I got the manual waiver within 1 working day.

Just checked, waiver in. Despite not swiping every calendar month. I did swipe every statement month tongue.gif

Just being charged AF for this month. Is it possible to waive it? If I want to cancel now do I still need to pay the AF first?
*
Rule of thumb is usually, you didn't use after annual fee charged, can cancel without paying

QUOTE(pao123 @ Nov 7 2017, 03:43 PM)
Not sure if this has been discussed before, but I just found out some stupid clause on my UOB Privmiles Platinum Card. It was promoted to be a travel card and their main feature was 12x complimentary access to the Plaza Premium Lounge in airports blah blah blah.

So I was trying to access the Lounge the other day before I board my flight to Thailand and they told me that this UOB card has a T&C that the free access is only allowed for the FIRST 40 UOB cardmembers who entered the lounge for each day. Then I was pretty furious about this because I wasnt aware when I signed up the card. I called the UOB call center and they confirmed that it is true.

Furthermore, the shared quota of first 40 uob cardmembers applied to the ENTIRE MALAYSIA, not just that particular airport. SO it is pretty useless benefit for a travel-centric card if you ask me. The day which I tried to access wasnt even on a weekend or a holiday, it was on a normal weekday afternoon and all quotas already used up. Imagine how likely you are able to get that access on a weekend or peak season.
*
not sure if you are used to credit cards in general but long story short, no free lunch in this world. there are other cards giving free lounge access with no conditions but you have to do your research and look for it. many regulars here do their research and enjoy the benefits without getting frustrated.

yes, it's useless. haha

UOB one card i think few months ago changed their benefit terms again. Last time Wednesday got 3% discount for petrol but now changed to 5% weekend right?
*
Has always been 5% weekend.

3% Wednesday was temporary. Just refer to website for current benefits.

UOB customer service called me just now, informed me that the UniFi transaction is actually TM Payment Portal (using Maybank), having problem, Maybank already aware this problem, they wil fixing it to the right amount and merchant, tell me to monitor for few days whether the statement appear correctly few days later
*
Do update us. These problems are serious and should be reported to bank negara, especially if you dont mind sparing some time to do it.

Deserve to fine these banks, don't care even if it is maybank, or we should be more vigilant because it is our biggest bank.
