Abs just like any other muscle. If its tiny then even with low bodyfat also will look flat.

either :
A. Your ab muscles are not developed enough or at all B. Your BF is not 10% C. Everyone will show abs at different body fat. Some people have visible abs at 15% for men while some may only have abs at 5-8%. If you have developed ab muscles underneath then maybe your body fat needs to go lower to make it visible. Side note, there's no accurate way to fully determine your body fat. I mean if you're using calipers and comparing it to someone who claims to have 10% BF but they are using a different method like a dexa scan or scale then it's not accurate. Honestly taking your BF is only to compare with yourself for progress not to compare with others. Body composition also plays a role here. Someone with 12% might look way leaner than someone with only 8% BF. So if your primary concern is getting abs... then lower your BF and develop your abs is all I can say don't ask why at 10% its not visible. No one can really give you an accurate reason why. Did you get you 10% estimation from a BIA machine? those have unreliable estimation.

QUOTE(Fizzy-Fiz @ Apr 5 2017, 06:20 PM) Did you get you 10% estimation from a BIA machine? those have unreliable estimation. yes I'm saying that Dexa is pretty accurate. What I'm saying is one shouldn't compare their body fat if they are using a different method to someone else using another method. It wont be a clear representation of what a true '10%' BF would be in that case since different methods will produce different results. Btw, what is current market rate in Malaysia to get a Dexa scan and how available is it to get the scan?dexa is accurate, and is used in research setting. those studies you are referring to mentions specifically elderly populations. we do dexa all the time here for kids with diseases affecting adiposity |

Its just goes to show that you need more workout and proper diet as well. Also, you need to take protein supplements to support your abs workout routine. Maybe a trainer or coach professional can help you deal with it since there are several precautions when you are doing heavy workouts in a gym.

IMO, for thin or high metabolism person, this may caused by diet rather than workout.

You made me think you own a supplement store, selling your products here. Supplement is good to have, though I take them myself, but it is definitely not necessary to "support his abs workout". Not in the gym. That reminds me of how i started first without doing abs for few years and now after progressive overload i can see my abs are starting to develop. I have not done a single abs exercise when my abs pop out the first time. So no, you do not need crunches to make your abs show. It may work for u but not for everyone. That's like saying legs visibility are made on the plate u eat and the cup you drink. Abs are just like other muscle This post has been edited by degraw1993: Apr 13 2017, 07:39 PM |
