either : A. Your ab muscles are not developed enough or at all B. Your BF is not 10% C. Everyone will show abs at different body fat. Some people have visible abs at 15% for men while some may only have abs at 5-8%. If you have developed ab muscles underneath then maybe your body fat needs to go lower to make it visible.
Side note, there's no accurate way to fully determine your body fat. I mean if you're using calipers and comparing it to someone who claims to have 10% BF but they are using a different method like a dexa scan or scale then it's not accurate. Honestly taking your BF is only to compare with yourself for progress not to compare with others. Body composition also plays a role here. Someone with 12% might look way leaner than someone with only 8% BF. So if your primary concern is getting abs... then lower your BF and develop your abs is all I can say don't ask why at 10% its not visible. No one can really give you an accurate reason why.

QUOTE(Fizzy-Fiz @ Apr 5 2017, 06:20 PM) Did you get you 10% estimation from a BIA machine? those have unreliable estimation. dexa is accurate, and is used in research setting. those studies you are referring to mentions specifically elderly populations. we do dexa all the time here for kids with diseases affecting adiposity yes I'm saying that Dexa is pretty accurate. What I'm saying is one shouldn't compare their body fat if they are using a different method to someone else using another method. It wont be a clear representation of what a true '10%' BF would be in that case since different methods will produce different results. Btw, what is current market rate in Malaysia to get a Dexa scan and how available is it to get the scan?
