Below's the sample resignation letter I prepared some time ago *grins* tongue.gif

7 March 2007

<Manager's Name>
<Manager's Position>
<Co Name>
<Co Add 1>
<Co Add 2>
<Co Add 3>

Dear Mr/Ms <Manager's Name>

It is with somewhat of a heavy heart that I am submitting this notice but circumstances require that I resign as <Current Position> effective <Effective Date of Resignation>.

The past week has been a difficult time for me as I deliberated the direction of my career and whether it would be best served staying on at <Co Name> or moving on with another employer.

It has been my genuine pleasure to work for <Co Name> during these last <Year of Service at current company> years. My experience here has been rewarding and productive and I wish only the best for you, and for the Company.

I will be happy to help train my replacement or do anything else you feel will help make the transition smoother and will be happy to answer any questions you have.

Yours sincerely,

<YOUR NAME>
