Damn, what's happening to BTS (Bitshares)? Sold off about 5% of my holdings for a 3700+% gain.

QUOTE(heavensea @ Jun 10 2017, 07:56 PM) I previously posted that I didn't like the sound of Digibytes news, especially on minecraft where DGB is only available on their own server running DGB-minecraft. It doesn't affect other normal players on real minecraft servers. Was thinking it was probably a pump and dump and I sold off a bit but now I wished I had sold off more.Might pick up some if it drops substantially. QUOTE(shankar_dass93 @ Jun 10 2017, 08:23 PM) Logged into POLO and realised that my DGB dropped by over 40%.... It was probably a pump and dump. How much dumping nobody knows. What's everyones take on DGB ? Is there a future for it or should i just cut my loss ? QUOTE(Flame Haze @ Jun 10 2017, 08:23 PM) I could only find this: http://www.bloomberg.com/research/stocks/p...capId=309328609Is that the one? QUOTE(WooTz @ Jun 10 2017, 08:38 PM) I see. QUOTE(heavensea @ Jun 10 2017, 08:50 PM) Ripple is a good coin. Most of the time, good coins will rebound. In ripple's case, there are no recent news available, making people sell off the coin. I'm still hoping for it to go higher with news. Anyway, please have your own strategy when to cut loss. |

Good morning guys!!!
Market cap is at 110B due to ETH. Surprisingly, ZEC seems to follow ETH's price. A few discounted coins today but I'm not sure whether to nibble some as this is a new scenario for me. It seems to me that it is not bitcoin that's causing the red sea this time but ETH and ZEC! ETH is not paired to altcoins so I guess money is flowing from altcoins to ETH....... If bitcoin shoots up after this, it will be a double red-sea combo for other altcoins. I think I'll stay at the sides for now and see what happens. QUOTE(Enigmatic @ Jun 11 2017, 12:09 AM) You all are awesome people. kmarc and WooTz - Tonloads of nice information for newbies on that thread. Thanks. You are most welcomed to contribute. Want to reserve a post? QUOTE(WooTz @ Jun 11 2017, 01:06 AM) Yet another golden ICO emerges from stealth modeĀ Gosh, so many ICOs. I think I will channel a bit to ICOs too, like I did altcoins.http://www.funfair.io/ I'll be doing: - Bancor - Super DAO - Status - SONM - OpenANX - adchain - TenX - Funfair - OmiseGo all in June, what a nice collection Hmmm... should I buy bitcoins or channel my profits to ICOs....... QUOTE(aboogee @ Jun 11 2017, 07:56 AM) Hey man , been following this thread quietly and also the exchanges. Not too sure. If I were to look at the market cap, it would be new money coming in and buying up major coins. The major ones are now not solely bitcoin but also ETH.Do you have a take on why ETH prices sky rocketed in the last 24 hours ? I tried looking for news on this, but it's important to filter the news coming out of "Coin" news pages - having said that, there's a number of people talking about the practical usage of it. What's your thoughts on the rationale behind it's appreciating value - or would we still consider the situation as speculative? Lol i haven't slept - just watching the market ride this was amazing. Everyone thought the resistance level was 320-330 : Then it hit 340 but it's coming off a little bit now. I'm guessing when market gets even more active next week - it's gonna scream above the 350 resistance level . Bit thats just my 0.00000000002 BTC thoughts on it. ETH is considered the next world wide web 3.0. It has progressed leaps and bounds and it's potential for great things is undeniable. There are many applications/token build on ETH. If you want specifics, you should ask WooTz, he's the expert in ETH WooTz. There's bound to be speculation as ETH is still in it's infancy and there's still a lot of milestones left to achieved. Well, maybe not an infant but maybe a toddler. In terms of valuation, nobody knows how high it can go. If bitcoin was the benchmark, ETH's price should be higher. However, I have stopped buying ETH at USD 90 and just enjoying the ride. Most of the time I would buy in when a coin rises but to buy in ETH requires too much money. Meaning to say I have enough ETH and is concentrating on other altcoins. |

QUOTE(blueblueoutofblue @ Jun 11 2017, 02:59 PM) Good catch! QUOTE(raynman @ Jun 11 2017, 03:12 PM) I use HashFlare to cloud-mine Ethereum. I guess a lot of us don't do mining. The hashrate plans there are much cheaper than Genesis. Strange, but this thread doesn't talk much about cryptocurrency mining. A forumer actually suggested a separate thread for mining....... What do you guys think, should there be a thread for mining? If so, I don't think it should be in finance section.... QUOTE(blueblueoutofblue @ Jun 11 2017, 03:22 PM) i think there is a Mining Crypto in Kopitiam thread.. Somebody with expertise can do that (start the mining thread). I have no idea at all! And yes, we should separate Mining from trading thread here.. confusing i was offline for 1 day, i saw more than 100 notice for this thread, with mix of mining.. and trade QUOTE(dc_talkz @ Jun 11 2017, 03:24 PM) If you don't mind. We can try setting up a small group. I've calculated that Genesis mining if you have a group of people consistently referring each other for every upgrade, it's actually quite a nice passive income. I'm interested but it is difficult for me to start mining as it's not easy to get the parts. Of course can order but I prefer to be able to go to a local shop and buy straight away.Even trying to get the recommended ASROCK H81 pro BTC board is hard. |

QUOTE(dc_talkz @ Jun 11 2017, 03:27 PM) Sorry, but is this a pure trading-only thread? Genuine question. I'm not aware of that and I thought anything crypto goes since the thread is about crypto currencies? It's was not intended to be a pure trading thread only. Just that somebody suggested separating the threads which I think is a good idea. Whatever it is, separate or not is fine with me. This post has been edited by kmarc: Jun 11 2017, 03:34 PM |

QUOTE(dc_talkz @ Jun 11 2017, 03:39 PM) Bro, I'm talking about Cloud Mining. You don't need any hardware. Google Genesis mining. Let me know if you're interested I'm trying to gather a small group where we can each exchange referrals for bonus mining power. I'm not comfortable with cloud mining. I prefer to mine myself QUOTE(soonming @ Jun 11 2017, 03:49 PM) Yeah, sounds like a good idea.QUOTE(blueblueoutofblue @ Jun 11 2017, 04:11 PM) deep fried stratis was a nice grab for me today Nice nice. i was preparing since thursday.. because i sort of got curve of pump period.. every sort of certain period, there will be some deep dried crypto out there.. today i fish stratis, bytecoins, and XRP ( when it was 8990 ) i missed out DOGECOIN, this morning it was 110 stat rest, as usual you know i play margin QUOTE(WooTz @ Jun 11 2017, 04:22 PM) WooTz, from ETH trend, we might see it at 400 next week..... |

QUOTE(WooTz @ Jun 11 2017, 04:36 PM) lol $5.9 billion 24hr volume on a weekend, now I've seen everything. ETH now has 2.8 million addresses and comparable daily transactions to bitcoin, the writing is on the wall folks. Any recent news for such volume? It crashed through USD 300 midnight last night. Now already USD 344. Incredible!going to standby some low buy order in case this pops. Anyway, I'm just enjoying the ride. Not buying anymore. My aim still stands. One ETH at USD 1000!! |

QUOTE(Enigmatic @ Jun 11 2017, 05:11 PM) Eh no need la - I think you guys have covered way more than enough. Unless you want to see controversial ramblings about fiat and me talking about blockchain, which isn't appropriate on the front page. Interesting. It's quite relevant actually. I did post something in the guide on whether cryptocurrencies are in a bubble ready to burst, similar to whether cryptocurrencies are a Ponzi scheme ready to burst! The reason I'm posting that is to bring across the message that cryptocurrencies are not guaranteed tickets to riches, that one still have to be careful and cautious when investing in cryptos. One can get lost in the euphoric environment of huge gains and ridiculous profits. What I am currently working now is to evaluate the statement that "cryptocurrencies are a Ponzi scheme". I was able to produce a mathematical representation of a Ponzi scheme on paper, but I am still working on modeling a supply-demand model for cryptocurrencies, which is a lot harder as there are too many abstract variables (e.g. how do we model the supply curve of cryptos, as it is a constant however market supply is fluid). There are some clear cut attributes differentiating the two in writing (mainly, what makes a Ponzi scheme unsustainable, being outflow > inflow, which the outflow amount (could be a constant, or a set of constants) but withdrawal rate over time growing exponentially as more investors come in), so hopefully I will have something to post again soon. |

QUOTE(luotang @ Jun 11 2017, 09:03 PM) Tried withdrawing from Poloniex and I found it has to go through a few stages. Why would one say it is not secure? Hackers have many ways to hack a supposedly secure website. If they can find a weakness, they can even bypass all those security measures that you mentioned. Of course, I'm not a hacker but that's how I understand it.i) log-in needs 2FA ii) withdrawal also needs 2FA iii) need to log-in email to confirm How insecure is this? The hacker has to get 2FA codes twice and to be able to log-in the email to withdraw. Finally, Dash says it doesn't want to be left behind. |

Morning guys!
Looks like it's really a double whammy. ETH surge followed by BTC. Half my coins are green while the other half is red. Picked up VRT yesterday and NOTE this morning because I AM SO FOMOed but please don't follow me, I have 40+ coins at the moment (Polo and Bittrex). I think there's only about 20+ coins on Polo that is not in my ETF collection QUOTE(wengherng @ Jun 11 2017, 11:10 PM) Cool. Did you find any coins? I can't find anymore coins that have good news or progress. Picked up a bit of NOTE as I noticed the recent pump and now at a discount. Did some search and saw they had some progress. Really out of idea what to do. I wish you all the best! I think I'll sit on the sidelines for all these ICOs for now. Want to concentrate on researching more about the many popular altcoins first. QUOTE(Cyyap95 @ Jun 11 2017, 11:44 PM) As there's no tax guide nor regulations on bitcoin yet, I've asked a few friends of mine and my father that work in financial and accounting field, that all the gain buying bitcoin at lower price and selling it later for higher price, is consider capital gain. That's the problem. Nobody can tell you as there's no law regarding this. Somebody did mention that there IS a tax of capital gain although I can't remember the term he used. I always thought capital gain is not taxable too. There's no tax on capital gain, the only tax I'll be needed to file is only personal income tax, what's your opinion? Is it true? QUOTE(zamans98 @ Jun 12 2017, 02:05 AM) U can get Biostar board, equally good. Oh? Ok, will do some research. Which particular Biostar is suitable?U may start with 1 GPU, best choice now is Nvidia 1070. , 6$ a day, not mining ETH., but other coins I have a 1070 but it is for gaming and the rig is not 24/7. Mind telling us which coin can generate $6 a day using 1070? ZCASH? If true, I will straight away build a rig to earn that money! Oh wait. Is it USD or MYR?
