Wanna ask if anyone in /k is/was working at Intel kulim. How is the environment and the surrounding of Intel. Is kulim deserted?

I heard only R and D kinda thing that left in Kulim with some high end production still running waiting Q before moving to Vietnam or China.....

if i were you i look at south of KL first instead of North.

Kulim will be boring to you if you are from KL.
Shopping malls and places to hangout are very very limited maybe only 1 or 2 places only.
Food will not be a problem as there are many good places to eat.

Also job opportunities are limited in Kulim. many people staying there work in prai or penang.
oh btw you will be working from Sunday to Thursday. Friday and Saturday off.
Kedah follow Kelantan and Terengganu work days.

Nothing much to do in kulim.

i stay kulim work in kl. topkek.
very peaceful, kl very but easy buy things.
lots of good food but u need to travel a bit further to penang border

Just go TS.

I'd rather go to small town like Kulim than in KV.

Jam like shit everywhere, air pollution, noise pollution, public transports suck and expensive, toll everywhere.

Unless you no care about spending hours on the road getting to and from office, or you dont have to face all above everyday, then don't go.

As long as Intel can pay you well.

Working environment should be almost the same but will be better than Japanese/Chinamen company.

But u come Kulim....Later you rot due to boredom. Entertainment very limited. But here no need worry about traffic jam.

u can cheong at hatyai, danok, betong and its near..

If Intel paying you well above average then GO!
Get the experience and consider stepping stone for higher pay & better position.

Anyway TS, just weekday is boring. I doubt you want to go anywhere during weekday nights after kerja all day. Even my friends work in KV also rest at home after whole day at work. Many place to relax relax at Kulim, just not shopping malls. Bukit Mertajam/Prai is nearby if you want variety.

Weekend if too bored can just go Penang. 35 minutes drive if you fly on BKE.

Really? Where can I meet more people in Kulim? Got place to chill out like a quiet pub? Kulim so boring..

Intel starting pay for freshie is RM3k. I am not sure about the going rate in KV for EE
But if you want high pay, don't work in EE, go for OnG or Software lah which has more opportunity in KV

Mostly just cafe/tea house or parks like Dataran Kulim, which is quite popular.
But if you want pubs....haha...sorry la.


One comment from my friend who transferred from Penang to Kulim is that, he does not want to retire yet So he still stay in Penang island.
Intel provide daily shuttle bus for employees from Penang Island to Kulim. If you want stay in Island, it is possible. Just have to wake up earlier to catch the bus.

Currently, I'm trying to do some fact finding. As it is quite a big step for me at the moment

Penang house so expensive and lives in apartment. With the same value, I can get a semi D double storey house in Kulim. Landed man, can keep cats as pets and bully them and chase them around my garden till they drop.

Just go, take 1st step out, u get the job then u get the job, the rest of it treat it as your experience.

Apartment also has its problems. Daily problems too such as for parking car need pusing up bertingkat tingkat. Not only driver pening, car also will pening if do twice a day everyday

I used to work there nearby intel, project basis for a month, at SIRIM AMREC.
Rent a guesthouse.

Kulim very peace, nothing move fast, all just relax n laid back. Food abundance and sedap. Of coz, no life at night, everything went quite after 9pm

Got high end housing nearby the factories, wonder who live there?

U mean the new Taman Kulim Utama Fasa 1&2? I will buy a property there soon.

Kulim is peacfull.
If you think Kulim bored, rent in Simpat Ampat la, just 30min drive ikut jalan belakang no tol some more. Near many incoming malls , design village, ikea..... Can use 2nd bridge go to island

Lol, can't remember road la, it was 2012. But it was between intel and a solar panel factory......or was it before intel...hmm sorry tak ingat
