Been playing since primary school. Never had too serious injuries just problem with my left knees. Out for 6 months. after that played again. never had the feeling to stop playing. And i actually dont spend much on futsal just around RM40 per month for the sake of exercise and fun. Too much?

Hmm, my list of injuries from football is going to be a slightly long one:

Torn left knee ligament ( recurred 'bout 30 times)
Right knee thigh muscle tear
Left ankle problem
Right ankle tore something
Left wrist tore something.

Regret? Nahh; none. Still going on strong with Futsal. Had to retire from football. Spend 'bout RM100 a month on futsal. Not too shabby.

When the ball blasted all the way to meet your 'balls' in between your legs, that is my painful memory and i am sure some of you here experience it before.

Until i couldn't even stand properly but duck at the ground like end of the world.

I played barefoot on a concrete surface before while it was raining and my captain toe nail got infected but not that bad lah...

I think it's because of all the crap in the water going under the nail, never again have I played barefoot.

I think there'll always be football in my life.

Few years ago, torn my right knee ligament. One partially and the other torn kau kau doh.gif . Had 4 screw insert and after 3 months on crutches and another 6 months not involve in any heavy activity. I'm kabooom again

I'm out playing again but there's one thing I learn from this, please buy yourself insurance if you wanna play football be it field or futsal. The pain is great man.....both to your body and pocket sweat.gif .

Looks like you haven't been injured. I guess we all share the same passion about football so imagine how would you feel if you were only able to watch your friends play football, giggling, joking, etc whereas you got to sit and just watch with taht sour face. It's a pain in the a**

I'm not quite sure but it may be because of the longer circular studs compared to adidas. If you use it on uneven ground it's risky.

The elongated adidas studs wear out faster but it won't cause your foot to get stucked in the ground.

no regrets playing football although it almost cost my life.

had a fall when i was in form 2 playing football and that fall proved almost fatal as 10 yrs later doctor diagnosed it was either Giant Cell Tumour or OsteoSarcoma.

had the bone (12 inches) of it removed along with my left femur and installed a titanium bone inside.

so had to retire from football but still and avid watcher. biggrin.gif

Been playing for around 5 - 10 yrs. Never had serious injury before but it really puzzled me on how many of my friends stopped playing due to injuries. I played as hard as them and i get injures now and then but i never understand it when ppl come telling me they quit playing of serious injury. Regret or not? yes and no. Yes when kena whack at lil bro till rolling on the floor helplessly haha.

Just the other day, it seemed like a simple tackle, but when i cleared the ball from a friend (winger) his knee hit my outer calf and then slowly it became more and more painful , like cramp, but it's not cramp.

BUT i will never stop playing football.

it feels great to limp into work on monday after sunday football! tongue.gif

I think it's a 'dead leg'. Feels like a bruise/cramp but no visible discolouration on the skin. Should be gone in 2 days.

i slipped off the stairs once and landed on my outstretched right hand
causing a dislocation of the shoulder.. after the first time. during every few futsal sessions my arm will pop out of the socket mid-game. ill just walk out to pop it back in and play again. hahaah.. but i had surgery now..

The field where i play at isnt really a proper field, its got rocks and trees in it. One day when i was chasing this guy who had the ball, i kept looking at the ball and not around me, and then BAM. run into tree. hehe. Everyone playing just stopped and laughed, even me, eventhough the pain felt huge.

And No i have never ever regretted playing something i love

The tree was not so bad. I got into a situation quite similiar to yours, but I hit an old and fat aunty instead of the tree. She opens a stall beside the field. In the morning, there's a market beside the field we play. Not only did my friends stopped and laugh, it as a laughing stock in school. Oh ya, that aunty is really ugly. Yuckssssss

One of my friend have to retire playing football at the age of just 24..

He's a very light and fast player...so whenever he get's the ball the opponents always encountered difficulties to catch up with him..and there's only one way to stop him that is by tackle him hard..

Went to surgery on his knees twice already and the last surgery is the last straw coz the doctors told him that if he ever get tackled again, he'll be paralyzed for life sad.gif

Ouch... man, it's not worth it wei..

Oh! so that's what a dead leg is!!

Even better was right after the zidane headbutt incident, me and my friend on the field (playing against each other) had the same idea and as we were talking away suddenly both turned and knocked our heads against each other.

My friend from the other end of the field was like "my gosh! i heard the cracking of your skulls all the way from there"

we were down on the floor for some time, dazed. our friends wanted to help, but couldn't help but laugh!!! waahhaha

I'm a football lover since high school. Had been through twisted ankle(most of the times) and 4 years ago I suffered achilles tendon injury, it was like kinda swollen, then doctor said it has ruptured. But dont know why I still can go into the field and play, but everytime after playing I feel pain somehow. And for some reason, I suspect because of my frequent injuries on my leg and bone, I hardly gain any height... cry.gif Sigh, regret a bit la....
BUT STILL FOOTBALL ROCKS!

I just hurt my knee again. While practicing dribbling. First hurt my knee last year, seems that i have a strain or tear in the ligamen. But i never stop, started playing again, after 3 months, then i regained my form, my shooting, and when i am in such a confident state, i hurt my knee again. Devastated, but i did not regret a single bit of it. Cause i love football. it's the passion that spurs me.

I sprained my left ankle back in the end 2005 but that injury was during my badminton game... mid 2006, i had a very bad ankle sprained during football and i couldn't twist it without feeling pain for the whole year. Now every time i over twist to the particular area, the ankle always makes a noise...

ur collateral ligaments (lateral and medial) can healed but ur cruciate ligaments (anterior and posterior) can not heal properly unless u do reconstructions of ur ligaments.....

Yuckssssss

I twisted my left ankle once right after I took a PENALTY KICK damn that was so stupid even I laughed at myself while lying on the field.

The other time was when I went chasing after a ball and the opposition GK manage to reach it 1st. He raised his leg while he was trying to catch the ball and the whole foot went straight at my chest. Couldn't breathe for 4.7 seconds. Thought I was gonna die haha joke

I seem to avoid injuries pretty well. Maybe cos I'm the chicken type Lol got tackle come hit the ball away then straight away jump over him haha. To answer your question... No, I've never and will never regret playing football. If there's passion, there won't be regrets unless some dude manage to kick his studs into your eyes and make you go blind.

I once hurt my back 6 years ago when i was in school. My friend & I was going for the ball. It was a 50-50 situation. Then suddenly, don't know how it happened, his knee hit my back really badly. I could hardly breath for 6-8 minutes i guess. Luckily he didn't hit my spine. If not, i would not be typing this post now... Hehehe... Until now, sometimes my back feels painful everytime when i feel very cold. That's why i don't like setting the air conditioner too cold. Hehe...

Ankle & knee injury already 'biasa' for me... But they really painfull though... Hehehe...

But, I never regret playing football...
