the phrase 'so so' ... is too generous tongue.gif

I might favour a weaker ringgit in the near future....
still weighing the risk though...

Meanwhile i'm sitting on sideline. biggrin.gif

KAREX still showing great momentum heading south. Even with record breaking revenue, the high distribution and administrative expenses has eat into profit.

The myth of "Insider Buying = Company is undervalued !!" gone bust. innocent.gif

ya..ya... Karex.. said long b4.
I think this is another fine example of not to use Uncle Buffett saying of 'buy what you know'...
and also 'big' or 'well known companies do not necessary make a good stock bet.

... and ya ya.. stock buybacks or insider buying... is never a safe indicator.

staying on sidelines is never a bad idea ....
buying for the sake of buying IS.

Airasia stories is interesting.

4 years ago AirAsia hedges their jet fuel. Using Singapore Jet Kerosene if not mistaken. When the price goes down, they hedge even more.

Now firesale leasing business. Probably announce special dividend next.

Definitely their story is very 'interesting' (i think that's being polite. hehe. tongue.gif)

How do you even start? And the holding company is not even listed, yes?
And with so many subsidies and sub-subsidies and inter-related companies...
I also dunno how to account what is happening already..... *rolleyes rollhead*

Hedging... that was classic yes? They hedged their jet fuel all the way down US90, yes?
Bet all the way down woh..............
Down more hedge more............... *rolleyes five times * *hehe*

Now here is the biggest rolleyes issue....

all these years... since listing...
compare AirAsia core net operating profit/loss VS their *hedging losses-gain/forex losses-gain/currency swap losses-gain*..

just compare .....
look at those 2 figures comparison...... *rolleyes ten times*

with such numbers.... how does one want to value this stock?
Base on core net profit?
or base on AirAsia's hedging skills?

just my flawed tiga sen opinion lah....
if wrong.... wrong loh..... sweat.gif

I know... you only interested in what stock at what price to buy to make money.

Well... any given stock, it indeed can go up..... one day.
Good stock, so-so stock, gov linked stock, bad stock, lousy stock.... sure they can all go up one time or another..... no doubt about it.

Take AirAsia... yeah... from 0.80+ sen ... it can go up to 4.60+....
but there's so much to learn from all this....
for example... did the trade actually hold on so long to the stock?
or did the trader jumped early and exited at 1.40?
and what about them traders who got in at 3.0+ and saw the stock tumbled to 2.00?
if the stock was really good... why did it tumbled so bad?

and why did AirAsia even tumbled to 0.80 sen in the first place?

or should a trade be so naive and not care... and just trade the stock as just a stock?

I cannot give direct advice. tongue.gif

Here's a simple but risky assumption.

When you have a blowout set of earnings, you could use normalised earnings of the blowout earnings. That would be your most simplistic (but risk prone) way of projecting a set of forward earnings...

with this set of projected earnings ask yourself if the current valuation looks sexy and seductive enough or not?

Yaya projections can be risky.. so what can we do to protect our capital in case our assumption doesn't pan out the way we expect?

Do we trust TA as the ultimate guide, FA as secondary? I found that we can do all the research but still we can never be certain how much a company makes in the next quarter. So probably TA should be used as a confirmation of our FA?

Do you use lower time frame chart to time your entry? This morning, Muda broke out from a base in hourly chart..

Oh. You gotta make them projections and then compare with your understanding of the business economics. In this instance, go compare it with the earlier discussions a couple of months ago.

Ta/Fa? I would say the business aspect is more important. Focusing only on the coming quarter alone is gonna be risky.

Lowering time frames is more suitable for shorter term players. You just need to find out what you excel in. Longer frames gives me more flexibility in my risks.
