Thanks a lot.

Originally, airlines would give you "miles" according to how far you actually fly with them. So if SIN Seoul return was 3000miles, then the airline will "give" you 3000 miles (sort of like a currency) in your account.

Flying business or first class will have a multiplier so for example biz you might earn 3x miles ie 9000 miles.

Then you collect miles and then eventually redeem them (for example you need 58,000 miles to redeem one way biz class to Sydney / Melbourne).

Nowadays if you don't fly an airline often you still can get miles via credit cards. So like s$1 spending, the bank gives you 1.2-2.0 (or more) points / miles. You can then transfer these points to your airline account and use that to redeem flight tickets.

I have 3 cards which been using for yearsss, then last year, I convert all my collected points to AA big point.
It is the biggest mistake in my life bangwall.gif , I regretted to the MAX 10000%

Why ah? The conversion to point was not worth it?
*
I always see advertisement from AA, whereby the redemption very attractive (e.g. 1000 points from KL -> HK)
But when I really try to redeem when I receive those email from AA, no matter what date i choose, i could not find those deals.
It usually require 15000 to 20000 points, one way to Asia country, excluded tax and service charge.
I hold my points for almost a year now, until I fed up, simply redeem some local flight from JB to KL, which cost 7000 point one way, again, exclude tax, meaning my 7000 big point worth not more than RM70 (the normal one way ticket from JB to KL).

Anyone has experience to apply dependent pass for your new born child?
I understand the requirement stated you must earn at least sgd5000 fixed monthly salary, if you are EP holder.
How about PR? not such requirement for long term visit pass? I couldn't find any info on requirement in ICA website.

yes im referring to those checkpoints. planning to commute JB-SG, maybe jam not very bad if got special lane for ep holder etc
*
It's not a special lane for EP, all pass holder can use including S pass, work pass, LTVP...etc..
I would say, most of the time the queue is even longer than manual All Passport lane.

Hi...First time i tried POSB remit transfer to Maybank malaysia (same day transfer)

I did successful transfer at 12PM (before 2.30PM cut off time). and i did receive SMS from POSB "Your DBS Malaysia Remit to xxx has been processed successfully 16/08"

But after that i login to maybank malaysia still did not see the money were in

May i know roughly when the money will be arrive?
Thanks
*
If it's before cut-off time, usually by end of the day, try check again after 6pm. It's not instant transfer biggrin.gif
But I do experience it took another 1 business day even i transfer within cut-off time.

Just settled my PR formalities . Timeline as below

15 Aug 2016 - started work in SG
11 Jan 2017 - submitted PR application ( using 5 1/2 months psyslip)
15 Sept 2017 - received IPA for PR
12 Oct 2017 - complete PR formalities
*
Have you got your SPR IC?
If yes, how long does it take for you to receive it from the day you complete the formalities?
And which method you choose? As i know you can collect from ICA, or iCollect, or send to Singpost.

I see....my formalities appointment is next week.
Wondering the re-entry permit is a piece of paper? Or just a small slip stick inside your Malaysia passport?
My concern is, do i need to bring the REP every time I travel out of SG?

Like currently I am on EP, when i travel in SG by car, i need to show my EP together with my passport.
What about PR? Do i need to show my SPR IC + REP + passport?

REP is an A4 sized paper.
entering or exiting sg, as of last i went through, is show passport only.
however, they mentioned REP may be requested though i have never encountered them requesting
so i keep a softcopy in phone.  laugh.gif  laugh.gif

I shrink my REP to a size which I can fit into my passport holder (font size is quite small though), with a soft copy back up in phone, but after almost five years had not been asked to show it to anyone. Gonna renew it for the first time soon! Wish me luck haha..

Thanks all~
I wonder why ICA don't do something like a small sticker stick inside your passport, like visa.
Carrying a piece of A4 paper with your passport is so....inconvenient sad.gif

hi all, this probably been asked many time, but I would like to re-confirm.
Once you get the driving license extract record from Malaysia JPJ, and subsequently get singapore driving license, are you still able to renew Malaysia license when it's expired? Or worst case, JPJ will ask you to surrender your Malaysia driving license when you get the extract?

once you get the extract and did not return it within the next couple of weeks(?) you will be straight-away be blacklisted.

I assume blacklist means cancel my license biggrin.gif

QUOTE(ldhong @ Oct 21 2017, 06:13 PM)
Last time when i request for extract at JPJ, i lied to the officer that i will come back so they did not cancel my license. Also, at that time my license will expired in one more year i kiasu enough told them to renew for 5 years..In the end valid for 6 years .... biggrin.gif

Anyway, i got it done at JPJ Padang Jawa Shah Alam.

According to my friends, do not go to JPJ at JB because that one conlanfirm will batal your Msia license.

Another advise, if you are not rushing to drive then get your PR first then only go for driving license because in the end after PR need to convert to new driving license to reflect new IC number. That's what happened to me.
*
yes I just got my PR, and according to SG government website, I need to do it within 3 months in order to get SG license by taking BTT only.
What if I still own Malaysia car? Can I still own and drive my malaysia car while in Malaysia with SG license?
Yea, I was planning to go jb UTC, near ma, no need go all the way back to KL blush.gif

Hi guys, want to check about BTT (basic theory test).
I bought the BTT 480 Question book from bookstore, is it enough to pass the exam by just studying this book?
There's another book - The New Highway Code, which I did not purchase.

According to the law, not possible. But I have frens holding both MY and SG license without any issue, they still able to renew their MY license.
When I go JPJ to get my extract, the staff ask for RM50 "under table", said he won't cancel my license until expiry date.
When I ask how about renew after expiry, he just said cannot... I don't care since I have another 3 years validity to go.
But I asked around, no one been asked to pay this under table RM50, I think i kena chopped.
