Not necessarily good. While some companies included 17% at the get go, if you suddenly become PR, your salary is actually "downgraded", while the total compensation remains unchanged. Example:
Before PR - Your salary $5,000.
After PR - Your salary is now $4150. Employer contributes &850 (17%). Total compensation still $5,000.
