regarding the photo, as long as you dont look visibly different, like huge weight gain/weight loss or very different hair style, it shouldnt be an issue..

my friend learnt it the hard way cause he assumed it'll automatically be converted, and he waited so long till his license expired for 3 years.
in the end, he no longer have valid license in SG or MY(because he converted), and have to start from 0 again.

no auto conversion for license gotten before PR is approved.
