Hey guys, has anyone been in this situation before:
My current company EP is due to expire in July, the renewal has been 3 weeks and still pending.
If now i get a new job and a new EP application is submitted (while the existing renewal still pending), will there be any issues?

QUOTE(simonhtz @ Jun 27 2018, 11:24 AM) It should be fine. Don’t worry. I had mine renew and I had he same concerns too. I just worry my existing employer discovers my future employers details. My employment letter states i cannot join a rival/competitor company for 1 year which is what i plan to do

QUOTE(Chafu @ Jul 19 2018, 04:00 PM) Well i studied mechanical engineering at Universiti Tenaga Nasional (bachelor degree), a private university in Malaysia. Just graduated officially this February actually, but worked as project engineer (although its on construction sector, so totally different field ) since last November till this Jun. Yeah i do notice the offer are kind of "low ball". Also does the salary offer are justifiable for a degree holder ? I mean considering the living cost at Singapore are not cheap anyway nowadays. Hello junior. I graduated from Uniten in 2016. That salary offer does sound a bit low... but since they’re offering you the title “Assistant engineer” whether senior or not, i think thats the range. I know assistant engineer at other company earns 2200sgd, my ex-colleague moved to that position.

QUOTE(Chafu @ Jul 20 2018, 04:42 PM) Well i tried to negotiate with the agency, and they say the company are firm with their decision. So its gonna be 2400 SGD, with no increment after probation. Yes there will be AWS and standard 14 days AL. In terms of salary increment, it was done on every mid of year (every year). Should i accepted the offer then it will be meant that i gonna be stuck on that amount effectively for a year. Oh well... Time to budget for cost of living in Singapore then. I do think 2400 should be enough, right ? p/s: how to know if the agency really negotiated with the client and not just simply bluff in order to secure the deal ? On your question whether 2.4k is enough: https://blog.moneysmart.sg/budgeting/cost-living-singapore/

QUOTE(seriousDn @ Jul 22 2018, 03:48 AM) Hi, question on EP here. I've heard that Malaysians have some leeway when it comes to the salary requirement for EP, what exactly does that mean? Actual requirement states there min. 3.6k, but for Malaysians, your salary much lower also can get EP. nobody knows exact number but well into the 2k range still can get EP

Hello all the PRs here;
I got my PR approved recently, however, my employer HR is dragging her feet max on signing my EP152 form. There’s always something else more urgent for her.
My appointment with ICA is this fri. Can I substitute the EP152 form with my most recent 6 months payslips instead?

QUOTE(crazy25kid @ Jul 25 2018, 02:56 PM) I would recommend chasing your HR I just went to complete my daughter's PR application yesterday. They insisted on seeing the HR letter and past 6 months pay slip at the time of submission (Dec) instead of the latest 1. Ended up going to ICA twice !!! I asked this on ICA website and this is the reply i got. Hopefully they do allow documentary evidence, cause my employer is hell bent on not signing it. They refused to fill up Annex A when i first submitted because they required me to be bonded to them, now they’re being a prick since i still got my approval. Attached thumbnail(s)

QUOTE(aussiebum @ Jul 26 2018, 09:31 AM) That is a bot reply. Prepare your latest 6 months pay slip and also wrote a letter explaining why ur employer refuse to sign n you will be good The actual reason they refuse to sign i dont really know. But, they are just dragging their feet. I made it clear to them for days that i need them just to sign cause my appointment is coming soon but they just dont want to get on with it but insist they will sign it. What sort of reason should I put in such a case? (PS: i have resigned before i even knew my PR is approved so i am now serving my notice period)

QUOTE(sWiftLink @ Aug 22 2018, 12:02 AM) it depends on the company's quota for EP and the salary stated on MOM website is part of the guideline. There’s no quota for EP. however, the EP criteria for malaysians appear to be grey in a favourable manner still. Even my EP renewal this year below 3600 still can get

QUOTE(Sglang123 @ Aug 31 2018, 09:20 PM) guys i have some serious question that i have been confusing since i entering singapore... the first question is what is the difference between EP/S-PASS/ work permit? as i know company has to help work permit & S-PASS employee pay levy. but is that matter taking an S-pass / work permit? got any advantages for the employee? EP is the highest tier for professionals, and jobs that sg requires talents. S-Pass is for supposedly mid-skilled range of jobs neutral ground. Work permit i dont know but it has been commonly stereotyped as being the "bangla" pass. EP and S pass have almost similar privileges (ie: can open any bank accounts/credit cards/apply PR). Work permit holders dont have that privilege (limited bank accounts eligible to open & cannot apply PR)and the second question is i went to an interview and the company decided to hire me and they told me it takes 3-4 weeks to apply the application from MOM. what makes it weird is i haven't give them my white card, how it that possible for them to help me apply work pass?? They dont need your white card now. After company submits and MOM approves they will issue you an In-Principle Approval (IPA) letter. Then after, you go do your medical as per required by MOM and submit. The white card is surrendered only on day of appointment to do the actual MOM-issued card which also require fingerprints & taking photo This post has been edited by rookie93: Sep 2 2018, 09:04 AM

QUOTE(Vascor @ Aug 31 2018, 11:06 PM) Guys, another question for the medical checkup for workpass: If I have already done body check-up recently, can I use that report for the declaration of fitness? How recent does the report have to be for it to be valid? Not longer than 3 months from date of submission. But MOM's medical checkup does test for specific illness only though (ie:TB/HIV), Can't remember if the form has a portion for self-declaration based on a recent report or it needs to be certified by a SG-registered doc. QUOTE(Sglang123 @ Sep 2 2018, 09:24 PM) so there is a chance for MOM to reject the approval? if really reject then i am going to be jobless and wasted so many chance coz reject other job offer and in the end the approval also fail. then i will GG malaysian dont need worry la. Very low risk of MOM to reject...should be able to get..... Just whether Employment Pass or S-Pass not sure. But even Employment Pass also should be quite easy to get.

QUOTE(Sglang123 @ Sep 5 2018, 11:40 AM) Hi, just want to have some question in mind.. once my employer in my application for e pass today. How long it will reflect my name at MOM online inquiry ? I'm just wondering it shows no record when I tried to check online today also. u input your IC/passport and the date you think your employer submitted , if both details correct, your particulars will show up. If they really submit today, then wait until tomorrow or friday to check...

QUOTE(sd_triton @ Sep 11 2018, 07:58 PM) What documents do I have to gather before opening a bank account, as an EP holder? I'm currently looking to open the DBS Multiplier account or OCBC 360, and I heard that some of the banks require proof of residence and they do not accept the HDB Authorized Tenant Enquiry Result from the HDB website. Also, what are the requirements for EP holders to get a credit card? You may need to check the bank websites to see what is the minimum annual salary to be eligible for credit card.
