Did mine at Endodothic Wong situated along Grand Paragon Hotel. Cost me RM800 I think. That was 5 years ago. Crown is separate charge, have to go to my normal dentist for that

Thanks for the tips. No offense to you but I read a bad review on it on Google tho.

On another note, just got my PR approved after 7 months of waiting, don't lose hope guys.

Have been working here for 2 years and just got my PR approved after 4 months of waiting.

Have you do your blood test for HIV & X-ray?
*
That's quick bro, congratulations!

Nope I don't need to according to the documents as I had my blood test and X-Ray submitted to MOM less than 2 years ago.

ahh thanks bro! same to you too.

One of my friend got his PR just 3months and work for half year in SG. I was like...  shocking.gif
Lucky you, i have to re-do it all again, don't think i can claim Company for the checkup. tongue.gif

Ahh..talk about luck, anything "special" about his profile BTW? Just for future reference for this thread. In my case, I applied when I was about 7-8 months in and it took me this long.

Quick one guys, what is the "best" credit card for someone who primarily spends on dining and minimal retail shopping? am fine with either miles/cashback/rewards, just want to get something out of my spending instead of using debit card which literally offers little benefit

how much u spend normally? i would suggest sc unlimited cashback. no minimum spend.
*
For dining, about 500-1000 SGD/month, I am thinking such low amount would be harder to get waiver?

QUOTE(kimin0211 @ Oct 9 2017, 12:06 PM)
Currently I am using :
UOB Preferred Platinum Amex - 4 miles per dollar (5 dollar per block)
UOB Preferred Platinum VISA - 4 miles per dollar for Paywave (5 dollar per block), if restaurant doesn’t accept Amex
HSBC revolution Visa - 2 miles per dollar
*
Thanks, I was looking at UOB PPV but somehow I couldn't find much details on UOB PPAmex on its site anymore. Is it easy to waive PPV with my low spending?

QUOTE(OldKidz @ Oct 9 2017, 12:37 PM)
May I know the process of applying for PR, I worked 8 months here, planning to start preparing what so ever required thn maybe start applying it when renewing my next EP pass.
Is it all PR application would need to come with body check or cause of job nature?
Great, can share more info. how come your fren can be so quick to get PR.
Job nature, position, entitlement criteria etc?
*
I don't need to submit blood report/Xray cause I submitted about a year ago during my EP application. If you want to know more about my profile you can PM me smile.gif

The PPA is no longer for application. A year ago, I applied the PPA via SMS after I received the PPV within a week.

I got my fee waiver of PPV last June. I spend less than 500 per month. All u need to do is call to call centre a year after you get your card. Not to worry about the fee.
*
Ahh..that's why its gone. Re fee waiver, should we call after we see the annual fee is charged to the card or do you call before it?

Actually, what is the minimum time we need to wait before can apply for PR and how long we need to wait?
*
I applied when I was 7-8 months in and I waited also 7-8 months LOL. But honestly the experience varies, some get it fast some have to wait even up to a year, it all depends on your profile and some luck.

The minimum should be at least 6 months cause they require 6 months of pay slips.

Can i know how u know ur PR are approved? Received a letter from ICA at ur residential address saying PR application is approved?
Mine is approved when i checked online but i changed my residential address. So afraid there is some letter i didnt receive. Not sure if i should call and follow up.
*
Through the letter, if its thick means its approved. Its faster than online cause I remember that day I just checked online at afternoon but its Pending but when I reached home I saw the letter saying its approved, then one day later I only see the status being updated on ienquiry.

You should definitely call BTW as you must complete the formalities within some time period.

Yup, which is why I qualified my statement as it being an “all rounder” card. For those of us (like you) who are willing to min-max, niche cards have much higher earn rates in niche situations, for those of us (like me) who don’t have the brainpower to do so and just want a generalist all rounder card, IMO Citi PM is one of the best.

(I guess actually there are better all rounders like Citi Prestige, but those have a steep income requirement ...)
*
Thanks for the suggestion. Forgive me if my question sounds stupid but don't UOB PPV offers better mpd than Ctii PM, with the following assumptions: ignoring Citi PM welcome bonus and assuming my merchant has paywave?

I guess that depends on your usage
For someone who has most of his spending in big items (online purchase, insurance, etc) where Paywave cannot be used Citi PM might be better
Paywave has a cap of $100 per transaction

Also, I believe this 10X Uni$ for Paywave is a promotional rate, so next year it might no longer be there
UOB Uni$ expire in 2 Yrs, so if you have a small amount stuck there and you're not going to use the card anymore, you'll need to figure out what to do with it
That's 2 years from the quarter the points are earned. So after 2 years your points already start to expire. You can transfer to Miles to refresh the expiry of course

To really maximize you can have separate card for separate usages, but I find that very troublesome
Prefer to just accumulate over a couple of years without needing to think "which card for this?" every time I open my wallet  sweat.gif
*
Thanks for the detailed explanation, I don't like the trouble of having multiple cards too, that's why I just want to get a suitable all-rounder card and forget all this tongue.gif Are there any other contenders beside Citi PM and UOB PPV tho? The requirements are still the same, dining (~500/month) with little retail/online shopping

If you're only spending less than 1k a month maybe Citi is better. Or anything else with no points expiry

Even if you earn 4x miles on UOB, at 1k spent that's only 4k miles per month. After 2 years that's only 96k miles and they'll start to expire already.

I think the rest of the better miles cards have a high income requirement and also high annual fee, so I didn't bother looking at them much
*
My idea is to convert them to KF Miles to "restart" the expiry but its a fair point too. Thanks!
QUOTE(heyamazingpeople @ Oct 14 2017, 04:58 PM)
ya, gotten the letter.
ICA mentioned it can be extended if required for my case, as they acknowledged that i have received it later from the date of issuance.

"completed medical report in the attached format
should not be issued more than 3 months ago at the time of submission to the department.
If a medical report had been submitted to more than 2 years ago, the applicant will need only to complete the declaration portion of the attached medical form"

So my last medical report that was just about 2 years 2 months cannot be used again with declaration? Need a new medical report?
*
If your last report is more than 2 years I wouldn't risk it, its just not worth the hassle as I wanted to get my IC ASAP and sometimes the appointment can be quite full

QUOTE(noslek @ Oct 14 2017, 09:39 PM)
I feel if can achieve 4K a month is quite decent, cause after transfer to KF, can keep for a further 3 years - so by the fifth year will have 240k miles which will be enough for a return suites to Europe!

6 years and I’m only manage 260k - quite loser.

Anyway I’m team DBS instead of Citi smile.gif
*
That's my idea too smile.gif So you are using UOB PPV and DBS Debit?

Single Loh, I clearly know myself will not and would not ever want to goback Malaysia to work, reason that SG currency and the environment suit me more, better convert now than later
That's no useless cert

Useless ppl , yes
*
I thought PR need 2 years before they can apply to SC?

Anyway, let me share my profile during my PR application too. Applied 7 months after I got here, < 30 years old single male, tech sector, just got mine approved after 8 months of waiting.

Well, just like u, normally the PR process required the foreigner work in SG for few years,

And u apllied after 7 months ......
*
To be fair, the official eligibility criteria for PR application on ICA's site make no mention of minimum stay except the 6 months pay slips on the Documents Required section whereas SC application eligibility criteria explicitly mentioned 2 years of becoming PR as a must-have criteria. Don't get me wrong, I am simply impressed and would like to know more about it as I wanted to be a SC too.
