I plan to build a gaming PC that is sufficient to play most of the AAA titles currently and at least for the next 3 years.

how much does it cost?

can anyone help to comment on this PC i am going to buy?

I plan to play AAA titles like howard legacy on reasonable settings on 1080p monitor.

do not wish to spend too much money on a graphic card as technology changes every year that every year the spec will be upgraded for the same price.

any can help to comment on this spec? is it overpriced?

for processor, if i choose the one without iGPU (as i have dedicated graphic card), but will it cause prob next time to troubleshoot the computer if dedicated graphic has prob? price difference is only rm100 with iGPU.

Casing, SSD, motherboard and DDR5 is "lowering" the price/performance. Too expensive.

Core i5-14500 - 1169
Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 ARGB - 175
MSI B760M-A Pro Wifi DDR4 - 639
Kingston HyperX Fury Beast 32GB DDR4-3200 kit - 368
Gigabyte RTX 4070 12GB Windforce - 2799
Samsung 990 Pro 1TB - 529
NZXT C750 - 565
Montech Air 903 case - 319

RM6563 total (Shopee prices)

This one not even tuned to RM7922 yet
*
but if i want to stick to the lian-li case for aesthetic...
(white colour)

which other white components can better match it?

besides, choosing Core i5-14500 is becos it has better value or?

Favoring aesthetics is going to cost you.

Core i5-14500 - 1169
Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 White ARGB - 155
Colorful B760M Gaming Frozen V20 D4 - 779
Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB DDR4-3200 White kit - 429
Colorful RTX 4070 Super White Ultra OC - 3338

NZXT C750 - 565
Lian Li PC-O11 Vision White - 629

Yes, i5-14500 got more e-cores and faster clock speed.

if i am willing to spend more, which white colour motherboard is nice?
also, if a motherboard is DD5 one, can it be installed with DDR4 RAM?

No you can't. They are not compatible. Go with DDR5 board and DDR5 RAM if you can increase budget. Swap to these

MSI B760M Mortar DDR5 - 975
Acer Predator Pallas II 32GB DDR5-6000 White (CL30) kit - 553

but lian-li O11 Vision white is a bigger case, should i go for ATX motherboard (white) to match and look nicer?

Plenty of boards for Z790 but they increase price without adding more performance. Its up to you. I would pair a Z790 with K CPUs. Like 14600K with 360 AIO cooling. Its a waste getting Z790 if you don't have unlocked CPU. And you can get extra 200mhz turbo from just one setting with K CPUs as well.

icic... besides, if i want a white rig... does the PSU colour matters? or it will just simply be hidden so no difference?

but sadly seems like not many DD5 white motherboard to choose from...

besides, what is 8+1+1 for motherboard, or 16+1+1?

Yeah, PSU is hidden. There are white cable replacements for PSUs too. Be careful with what you buy those. Some brands makes it only for their own PSUs.

Colorful boards are white in color. Asus Z790-A (DDR4 or DDR5) also white but brand tax makes it hard to recommend.

8+1+1 or 16+1+1 is the Voltage Regulator Module. More is better. It can handle more powerful CPU and better overclocks. They cost more.

Example:
Putting 14900K on lowly B660M (looking at you, Asrock) that comes with 6 + 1 + 1 (50A per phase) is asking for overheating VRM.

icic. ok. ok..

besides, for SSD,

there are choices of
1) samsung
2) lexar
3) kingston
4) teamgroup t-force

which one is better?

ic... there is a new samsung 990 evo that supports both pcie 4.0 and 5.0 and cost rm100 lesser but read/write speed slower... does it make sense?

i had shortlisted all the items that should look like a white coloured rig.
both cases i do not know if they come with built-in fans, it seems like H9 Flow comes with 4 fans but not RGB.
O11 Vision seems like no fans at all.

i am willing to spend the budget just want to ensure i can choose the better brand among the specs i had chosen..
e.g. is the brand of the RAM chosen ok or i should go for other brand RAM?

NZXT H9 Flow

i had given u full white rig de wat..

i know... but i have some preference components brands and models that i want to use... that's the reason why it costs more... tongue.gif

rm10k is probably my maximum budget... (initially before i decided to go with a white coloured rig was rm8k)

and also motherboard i prefer to use a ATX form factor one since i am using a bigger case instead of MATX one...

lianli galahad II white with LCD fan wan??

i am buying from idealtech, so somehow certain brands and models u shared they are not selling too..

ic... but white graphic card really not much choice... i searched around, only two brands available.. one is asus one and one is msi one only...

yes, it has an LCD that can display info, picture or even video... the resolution does not look very good though..

user posted image

as a contrast... NZXT KRAKEN ELITE 360 RGB (WHITE, Price: RM1479) is nicer.. the LCD resolution is damn good..

user posted image

maybe i should combine lian-li O11 Vision white case with NZXT KRAKEN ELITE 360 RGB white... tongue.gif

i want to stick the case i like and with the cooler with LCD can make it looks really nice.. as case can be used for very long time and I am sure it will feel nice every time i use the computer, so this initial investment is quite worth it after all...
(i care more about appearance than other things..)

if there is better brand than asus/msi that idealtech is selling which i can choose i am ok to opt for them one...

The thermalright aio got LCD oso ...

Brand doesn't means all r better... There r oso tiers in the brand..wat u choose it's the lowest in it.. like Almera in Nissan.. trash level.. like Mazda 2 in Mazda.. it's just  low

But expensive becoz of the brand
*
icic. ok.. will take a look at the thermalright one... tongue.gif

QUOTE(babylon52281 @ Mar 30 2024, 11:18 AM)
Any particular reason your getting from Idealtech? Their inventory quite limited so a colour themed build is either gonna be limited, overpriced or underspec or both.

If you dont need over top bling a Thermalright AIO is nearly 1/5 the price of that NZXT!
https://www.lazada.com.my/products/thermalr...2350107568.html

Bare in mind that fish tank case needs good cooling so maximise the fans slots in the case. Even then temps can be quite a bit higher than normal so dont go with high end parts like 14700K or 4080 stuff
*
the reason is that i am initially wanted to buy from them becos they are having promotion which they give free monitor which is worth about rm400 (full hd 60Hz msi one)... and their package computer seems ok becos i need to buy a new gaming computer of at least 4070 super graphic card... then if i dun want the free monitor, also can top up rm799 for a 2k gaming monitor (asus) which retails at rm1299...

so i tot overall not bad deal...so based on the package PC, i upgraded some stuff and also add a separate lian-li case and made a deposit rm1k already on friday night at their shop.. balance to be paid once the computer is ready. then friday night i research further and talked to the bros in lowyat here and realised that i might be able to get cheaper price for same spec elsewhere...but i already made the deposit so i am stuck with them... at the same time, after research online further and realised that i might be too tight up with the free monitor promo thingy and package PC thingy by them which it limits what i can buy instead of what i want eventually. so immediately on saturday morning before even their shop opens at 11am, i whatsapp them to hold the order first becos i want to edit my order.

unless i can get full refund from them if i proceed with the cancellation, else i am stuck that i need to buy from them rite? although i check their website it seems like the full refund is still possible if the order is not delivered.

yes, my CPU and GPU are not the highest models so it should still be ok..

Now i understand your full story, yeah kinda sucks since your tied with their order. Imho the price difference with that over Myway reco is much higher than that RM 400 monitor so sorry to say your not getting any monies worth. And for gaming, 60HZ monitor just sucks bad. If you can get full refund, then better.

Otherwise, that Kraken Elite is just overpriced for an AIO when TR i gave is 1/5 cost for same performance. Durability quality is lebih kurang, your pump will kong 1st then can throw whole thing ady. So why not get the cheapest AIO that Idealtech has. An 14500 doesnt need a big one too. 240mm AIO also can use.
*
ya will try to see if I can still get the full refund now or not.

The case is big so if using 240mm one it will not look that perfect even it is perfectly ok also.

dear sifus,

i have the chance to get back the refund of my deposit now.

Can anyone recommend me a best value rig combination now?

I want this as my case so this is fixed.
Case: Lian Li O11 Vision (White)

processor i prefer intel minimum i5 (latest gen).
graphic card i prefer nvidia that minimally can play AAA titles such as Howard Legacy at 1080p.

theme wise i prefer a all white rig with RGB.

budget wise last time it was between rm8k to 10k.
but any lower now I will be happy. tongue.gif

Hello babylon52281 , thanks for the heads up! My friend needed the build to be ready by next week, I think it is not relevant to him in some way or so.

In the end I quoted my friend these specs:
DDR5 Build
CPU: Intel 12700kf - rm1259.00
CPU Cooler : Deepcool AK500 - RM139.00
MOBO: MSI PRO Z790-A WIFI  - rm1348.00
RAM :Corsair Vengeance 5200MHz 32gb DDR5 kit - RM499.00
PSU: CoolerMaster mwe v2 bronze 750w - RM329.00
Storage: 1tb p5 plus - rm399.00
Casing: Montech Air 100 RGB - rm245.00
GPU: Colorful RTX3060 12GB - RM1259.00
Total: RM5,477.00

DDR4 Build
CPU: Intel 12700kf - rm1259.00
CPU Cooler : Deepcool AK500 - RM139.00
MOBO: MSI PRO Z690-A WIFI DDR4  - rm1145.00
RAM :Corsair Vengeance LPX 3600MHz 32gb DDR4 kit - RM349.00
PSU: CoolerMaster mwe v2 bronze 750w - RM329.00
Storage: 1tb p5 plus - rm399.00
Casing: Montech Air 100 RGB - rm245.00
GPU: Colorful RTX3060 12GB - RM1259.00

Total: RM5124.00

Are these specs ok? Picked the RTX3060 over the RTX4060 for more VRAM.

Edited: Typo
*
4060 still have better performance than the 3060 even the vram is more on the lattter. Not to mention 4060 has DLSS 3 which can last one longer for at least full hd or even 2k gaming for longer period of time.

And why ur cpu so ex? Even 14th i5 higher end processor also much cheaper than this.
